OKAY. WHY THE TITLE? I'm reviewing a product called Stella endorsed by Stella McCartney and the review is written by me - Stella. Stella by Stella by Stella. See what I did there?! Ahem.
WHAT IS IT? In this instance, I have a 50ml bottle of Stella Eau de Parfum and a 75ml Soft Body Milk which come as part of a gift pack.
WHY THE PRODUCT I like having things with my name on it and I like the bottle but wasn't in a hurry to pay the price for it so it was a nice surprise to be given it as a Christmas present in 2006 by my Darling Daughter. I'll call her DD for the purposes of this review.
WHERE CAN IT BE FOUND? A little tricky this one. DD found it in the in-flight catalogue on board an easyjet flight from Inverness to London. Now you may not want to go to such measure for a bottle of perfume. A bit 'Milk Tray Man' that. It can probably be
found in most perfumeries, is available all over the internet including escentual.co.uk (more on that one later) and I know for sure that it's sold in Boots.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? The set I am reviewing is called a Coffret Set containing 50ml Eau de Parfum Natural Spray and 75ml Body milk. DD bought it Duty Free on the flight and can't remember what she paid. However, this particular gift set is £42 from escentual.co.uk. Boots sell the 50ml bottle of Eau de Parfum for £39 alone or a Gift Set with 30ml Eau de Parfum and 75ml Soft Body Milk for £32. Like I said earlier, it's available all over the internet so do shop around.
THE PACKAGING is fairly substantial and the products well protected within a thin card outer box and a thicker interior of corrugated card. The packaging is recycled which is in keeping with the McCartney ethical principles.
THE BOTTLE is a clear purple - my favourite colour - graduating from dark at the top to pale at the bottom. There is a silver collar on the neck of the lid with Stella written on it and quite a heavy black top. Even in the bottle there is a feel of substance and quality. The atomizer squirts a small measure of perfume that's just about right.
AND THE BODY MILK is in a white plastic container which stands on its little clicky lid. (Imagine Heinz Tomato Ketchup's Stay-Clean lid and you're nearly there!) The Milk, like the aforementioned ketchup, comes in a squeezy bottle so you can control how much or little is squirted out. Only a small amount is needed and the Milk goes onto the skin beautifully. It's non-greasy and dries quickly to a silky softness. Lovely.
WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE? Stella is very classy. (Heh heh: You know I mean the scent.) The fragrance is lovely and fresh and yet has a dark and powerful overtone as if you had been wading in the petals of a dewy, deep red rose. The heady scent is not lost in the Body Milk. I read somewhere on the internet that the "Notes are of Rose, Peony Flower, Mandarin, Rose Absolute and Amber." I forget where but credit where it is due. So, as you may have guessed, it's a very pleasant, aromatic, floral perfume with an intensity to distinguish it from your granny's rosey eau de toilette. Also, you know how with most scents, after you put it on, you can't smell it after a while although other people can? The bouquet from both the Eau de Parfum and the Body Milk lasts for absolutely ages. I can put it on in the morning (although it is probably a perfume best suited to an evening occasion) and still smell it at teatime.
The list of INGREDIENTS is on the box and I'm not sure if it matters much - unless of course there's a case for allergies - so here's the list if you're interested.
The PARFUM : Alcohol Denat, Parfum (Fragrance), Aqua (Water), Linalool, Citronellol, Butyl Methoxydibenzoyl-methane, Limonene, Benzo-phenone-2, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, Geranol, BHT, Farnesol, Citral, Hydroxycitronellal, CI 17200 (red 33), CI 42090 (Blue 1), "3SA02-1"
- Please tell me there's someone out there who actually read those ingredients and found them interesting!

Great review, funny and entertaining, I liked your style of writing! Yes, I'm such a such a person out there who diligently reads the chemical ingredients list on any perfume or cosmetic stuff she lays her hand on! Comes with the future profession I know... though haven't gone as far as Sgathach...
I agree with S.bate the list does an indication of the smell of the scent and how much natural or synthetic ingredients it contains.
Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum Spray. The image of contrasting fragility and more
strength has beencaptured in McCartney's fragrance - Stella. The traditional perception of the feminine and sensual rosegiven a modern and edgy dynamic. The top noteof Rose Essence, which gives it a pure andnatural rose smell, is fused with peony flower that adds alightness of touch, and mandarine essence for a fresh vibrancy.Altogether, these top notes create a seductive, delicate andconfident combination. The heart noteis based on the Rose Absolute whosefemininity and sexiness reveals a more intense facet of the rose:its heart. The base notesare predominantly woody ambers; theirmysterious, dark, carnal sexiness providing the perfect contrast tothe femininity of the rose.As the fragrance melts into the skin, these base notes create ahunger, a sensual and instinctive addiction to the fragrance. The magical qualities of the bottle are emphasised in thecolouring as the jewel like facets reflect the light of the crystalclear transparency, the plum coloration and the petal pinkperfume. The perfume bottle's facetted glass cap opens to unveil asensual perfume applicator, evoking the power and tradition ofancient perfumes.
