Low men in yellow coats

Advantages: Great reud, up to Stephen King's usual standard.
Disadvantages: Some may not like the way it is written

This book is made up of five stories set between 1960 and 1999. All of the stories are linked. Low Men In Yellow Coats ----------------------- This story is set in 1960, and is about Bobby Garfield. His dad dies when he was three so he lives with his mum in an appartment building. It tells of his relationships with his friends, and about some of the things they did. However, it mainly centres on Ted Brautigan, a man who moved into the upstairs appartment. Bobby befriends Ted, and gets paid to read to him. What Ted is really paying him for though is to look out for the low men in yellow coats, or signs that they may be around. Hearts In Atlantis ------------------ This 2nd story is set in 1966. It cenres around Pete Riley going to university. A craze of playing Hearts is sweeping the dorm he is living in, and has a bad ...

Review of Hearts In Atlantis - Stephen King

tears in atlantis

Advantages: five different stories, many pages
Disadvantages: the later stories seem a bit pointless

of advertising other books of his. Apart from this though, the book is a heartfelt tale of young emotion, about childhood back when times were simple, i.e. before computers! The second story, about as long as the first one, tells of the first term of university for one floor of a hall of residence, and how they are all sucked into and addicted to playing Hearts for money. This eventually features the girlfriend from the first story. I really enjoyed this chapter of the book, as I too am currently on my first term of university, as well as it being an exciting read and showing some interesting things about human behaviour. This, in my opinion, is by far the best story in the book, and could easily be released as a book in its own right. I would say that this story is amongst my favourite Stephen King stories. The book so far has been a resounding ...

The Shawshank Redemption Movie Review

Advantages: inspiring story, best prison movie of all time
Disadvantages: a bit longer running time

based on the short novel "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" by the well know novelist, Stephen King. PLOT OVERVIEW The story took place somewhere in 1940s and the scene started when with Andy Dufresne was on his car drunk and was in front of the house of her wife's lover. Next scene was in the courtroom where Andy was pled guilty of murdering his own wife and her lover, though he never admitted the committing the crime. He was sentenced to serve two life sentences back to back one for each of his victims. He was sent to the notorious Shawshank Prison. From the start, Andy is known to be a soft spoken, aloof, innocently looking inmate on the outside but his mind was preoccupied with mysteries yet to be revealed later in the story. He befriended veteran convict named "Red", who was known to be the influential man who knows how to get ...
