Audio Book of Harry Potter
Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Audio Book) - Stephen Fry (Narrator), J.K. Rowling by 4591carl

Advantages: Great tone created
Disadvantages: Childish tale

...Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (the first in the series of best selling Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling) is read by Stephen Fry. Stephen Fry expertly captures the voice and tone of the book. An absolute brilliant narrated performance by Stephen Fry. Stephen Fry has become the voice of Harry Potter. The story is a simple tale of a child who goes to a boarding school and encounters details. But this is no ordinary boarding school, this is a school for magic. We find out as Harry does that he is a wizard. We hear about his terrible past, were his parents were murdered by a dark wizard (Lord Voldermort) We hear the story of Harry's first year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry and his first steps into the magical world.... An emotional journey with the real creator
Review of Stephen King Live! (Audio Book) - Stephen King (Narrator) by becky_is_here

Advantages: Gives an insight into the author's feelings and emotion through his voice towards his book
Disadvantages: May not be as effective as reading a book for yourself

...Stephen King is an excellent author. He has given to us a wide range of extravagent and intricate novels which, when read carefully, give the reader a sense of being involved in the story. In August 1998, Stephen King read live at London's Festival Hall. He read an unpublished story and he answered questions about his life. This audio tape is a recording of the event which took place! (Interviwed by Muriel Gray) This product gives the listener, rather than reader, this same sense of involvement. The way in which Stephen King narrates the words and puts in his own creativity, makes an article flowing with emotion and danger. The product is at an extremely good price (I found it for £6.99 at amazon) and is well worth the money. I love this product and would buy others like it. The way that the language has been captured on tape... Read review

Brilliant Tale Well Told
Review of Dolores Claiborne - Stephen King by Musicbox

Advantages: A different perspective
Disadvantages: none

...Dolores Claiborne is a real change from the usual Stephen King, but none the less it is a terrific read. It is written as though Dolores is actually telling the story herself and this in itself makes it a great book. You can almost hear her voice, telling of how she comes to be sitting giving a statement to the police. I think what really comes through this story is an understanding of just how people can be driven to do terrible things. Things which would normally be out of character. So if you fancy a really good read, without the usual demons and devils of Stephen King, read this book now!... Read review
