WHAT ARE THEY, WHERE TO BUY & HOW MUCH! *_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_
Well you’ve probably already guessed by the name of the product but I’ll tell you anyway.
These bottles are pre-sterilised and sealed for your convenience. I mean really, I’ve seen it all now, lol.
They come in a choice of three sizes:
125 ml bottles suitable from birth to 3 months with a medium-fast flow teat. You can buy these in 4&12 packs
250ml bottles suitable from birth to 3 months with medium-fast flow teat. You can buy these in 4, 12, 24 packs.
250ml bottles suitable from 3 months plus with fast flow teat. You can buy these in 4, 12, 24 packs.
Price’s vary depending on which pack you buy but if memory serves me correctly, you can buy 4 125ml birth to 3 month bottles for £1.85 from Boots. I haven’t seen these in any other stores but I’m sure they’re going to be popular and will be available everywhere pretty soon.
PACKAGING *_*_*_*_*
Well the picture that accompanies this opinion is of the box these little beauties come in! The box is a lovely shade of blue, theres a picture of a bottle on the front and on the back it has everything you need to know before using the product.
WHY DID I BUY THEM! *_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Well I am currently breastfeeding my little girl but its not always easy to find somewhere private when out and about. I do have re-useable bottles at home but I tend not to use these much as I’m not very good at expressing myself if you know what I mean!
Anyway I was doing some shopping in my town centre and feeding time arrived. Oh my, when my daughters hungry she really lets it be known to all, first she gets restless and if she isn’t fed pretty soon then she can break windows with that cry of hers (ahhh).
I had tried all my usual Mother and Baby rooms but they were full to the brim with hungry babies and I couldn’t find a quiet spot anywhere so off I popped to Boots and quickly too I might add.
I picked up a box of Steri-bottles and a carton of SMA Gold infant baby milk (ready mixed I might add), which can be used to compliment breast fed babies.
I mean how convenient can you get!
Off we went to a cafe and settled down to read the directions.
DIRECTIONS *_*_*_*_*_*
On the back of the box there is a very easy to follow guide for use with infant formula but as I was using a ready made carton I found I could skip the first half of the instructions as they are based on how to make up a bottle of formula milk. If you should need information on how to make up a bottle of formula milk, then you will find this information on the tin the milk comes in!
Anyway back to the rest of the instructions:
Always make sure you have washed your hands before you remove the bottle from the plastic cover.
The bottle comes in two parts. The cap(which covers the teat completely) and the base for fluids.
Once you have poured the milk into the bottle, screw on the cap. Make sure you have done this correctly as otherwise it will leak everywhere as I found out much to my surprise! Once the cap is in place properly then it will be leak proof and tamper proof.
Shake bottle if you need to mix your formula or if you’ve used a ready-made mix like me then your all set.
You may use a bottle warmer with this product but the directions do say not to use a microwave as this may create hot spots of milk, which could scald your baby’s mouth. I didn’t bother with either as milk at room temperature should be fine.
Please note that this is a single use bottle and once sealed properly it can’t be opened or re-used!
WHAT DID WE THINK OF IT *_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Well as a breastfed baby, she was a little bit shocked at this at first but after some convincing she did enjoy her drink in this wonderful product, lol.
Following the directions was simple enough and if there wasn’t any directions on the box it would be rather obvious on how to assemble the bottle anyway so there’s no worries there.
The bottle looks a bit cheap and nasty but for a single use item then I can’t complain about that really so I won’t!
The teat was a different matter. I bought the 0-3 month range and found the teat a bit on the small side. My daughter was only 6 weeks old when I first used these and so the teat should have been fine but I would buy the next size up next time. When she was sucking on the teat it completely disappeared and normally I would expect to be able to see some of the side at least!
Would I use them again?
Yes, I have found them very convenient and easy to use. They’re cheap and can be recycled so you don’t have to feel to concerned about the waste!
If I fed my daughter on formula milk then I’d probably give these a miss as using them on a daily basis would end up being rather costly but if your out and about and have forgotten to put your child’s bottle in your bag then head for a Boots near you and give them a go.
I give this product a full ***** rating for the simple convenience factor!!

Advantages: Great in emergencies Disadvantages: Expensive if used all the time
I am a bit of a flutterbrain to say the least. I am constantly forgetting things and drive myself crazy.
Anyway, the other day, while my husband was out at work I set off with the little uns just to the shop around the corner to buy some bread. I didn't take a bottle for my 4 month old daughter Mia as I thought I'd be there and back in two minutes.
Just as I shut the front door I realised that I'd locked my keys inside the house and myself and ... ...much of a dilema, I'd just look round the shops or visit someone until my hubby got home three hours later. However, I had Mia with me and there was no way she would get through the next three hours without her current hourly bottle of milk she has!
I panicked as I realised that even if I bought her a new feeding bottle I would not be able to use it as it would not be sterile and could make her very ill.
It was in my panic, frantically searching ...

Advantages: great for emergencies and away days Disadvantages: it can be quite difficult to screw the top propery - no second chance if it leaks
Background. I have a fantastic (first) grandchild named Riley. I think he might have hollow legs. I help out making and sterilising bottles, but he sometimes runs out of milk. Then I went on holiday just about the same time as my daughter had some decorating done and new carpet laid. In the general hubbub one of the helpers ‘hid’ most of Riley’s bottles. They weren’t found until the work was done and everything restored to its usual place. Thank ... ...Boots and Mothercare as well as on-line from http://www.travellingwithchildren.co.uk/ they come in packs of 4 or 12 packs, although you might only get the 12 packs on-line. There are 3 types, sizes 125 ml and 250 ml with medium-flow teats for babies up to 3 months and 250ml for older babies presumably with fast-flow teats.
Description Each bottle is individually wrapped and sterile and comes with a teat cover.. About the hardest thing is getting ...

Advantages: Convenient, recyclable, anti-colic design Disadvantages: Can leak if not sealed properly
Lets face it… whether you use a cold water steriliser, an electric or microwave steriliser or use the old-fashioned method of boiling the bottles and teats for however long you have to, preparing bottles takes time. Guidelines now say that it is best to prepare each feed as your baby needs it. So add on top of the sterilising the time it takes for boiled water to cool to the perfect temperature to add the powdered formula milk, then the time it takes ... ...baby and you'll probably end up with a baby screaming with hunger! Plus sterilising one bottle every time your little one needs a feed can mean you could be sterilising eight or more times a day.
Or lets think about how hard it is to keep a pre-prepared bottle of milk refrigerated when you need to go out shopping for the afternoon. Or about how much trouble it can be taking a bottle and milk powder and then making it up around your friends or relatives ...

Advantages: No washing. no sterilising. need i say more? Disadvantages: Seriously, none!
I read about steribottles in Mother and Baby magazine and i thought no, too good to be true. These are amazing. They are pre wrapped, pre sterilised bottles with lids and teats. You unwrap, pour in the milk and feed your baby. After, you throw it in the bin. All done!
The bottles hold 9oz each. I am a mother of a 5 month old baby, I manage a nightclub and my partner runs a bar. We both work long hours, and subsequently the washing bottles, sterilising ... ...all got a bit too much. We no longer use powder formula, we but all ready-to-pour. And though we do use normal avent bottles sometimes, i have to admit that a fair few of our son's feeds are from steribottles. The number of times i have gone to bed at 5am, been woken by the baby at 7, walked to the kitchen, opened the fridge and.... no bottles are made. oops.
The other, major bonus is that because the plastic they are made of is so thin, they heat ...

Advantages: easiness of use Disadvantages: not the environmental option
Being a forgetful mum, as we all are sometimes, the first time I was introduced to Steribottle was when I was out and about in the town, realised it was my son's feeding time, and that I'd left his milk at home! Steribottle is a quick and clean option to feed your baby, especially in an emergency situation. However, as I try to recycle as much as possible, I felt really guilty about using disposable bottles, as well as binning them after the use. ... ...is suitable for recycling (I doubt it), but this would obviously be a great bonus to the product. I know some people reuse the bottles (but usually only in great emergency), by not screwing them so tightly that they lock, and washing them afterwards. However, it is not always possible to do this, and obviously the bottle is no longer sterile after that.
Now, what does Steribottle look like? Well, they come in two sizes, 0-3 months bottle (150ml) ...
