Sterimar is a saline nasal spray. That's a very simple explanation of something that means that I can breathe properly for the first time in more years than I care to think about!
I have had problems with my sinuses for many, many years. I was suffering from near-constant sinus headaches which often developed into migraine headaches. I saw my doctor's on a number of occasions. They told me that, due to the fact that I suffer from high blood pressure they were limited in what they could prescribe for me.
The only thing that they cold prescribe for me was a nasal spray, which they kept re-prescribing over the next several years. The spray sort of worked, but was really not all that effective. When I pointed this out to one of the doctors at m surgery he seemed annoyed an almost accused me of being at fault for suffering from high blood pressure! A most unhelpful and very frustrating experience, as you can imagine.
The nasal spray that I was prescribed was a steroidal nasal spray. One day I looked at myself in the mirror and realised that I had developed what is known as a "steroid moon face." This would explain why I had put on so much weight, I realised.
I realised that I needed to stop taking the steroidal nasal spray. But what to replace it with? I happened to be in my local branch of Boots (please see review!) when I saw something called Sterimar Saline Nasal Spray. I decided to try it. It was not exactly cheap at about £6.00, but I decided to Pay for it using my Boot's points.
As soon as I got it home I read the instructions. The instructions were simple. Basically the instructions say: "Stick the specially designed nozzle up your nose and squirt." I am, of course, paraphrasing wildly here!
I followed the instructions and breathed in whilst I was spraying. The sensation of a tiny amount of slight salty water running down the back of the nose into the back of my mouth was interesting. What was more interesting was the effect that the spray had on my poor, abused sinuses.
I do not want to go into the gory details here but suffice to say that within a quarter of an hour my sinuses were in the best condition that I can ever remember.
I kept the steroidal spray for several days after I first bought the Sterimar saline nasal spray. But then I threw the steroid spray into the bin.
I am now on my second can of Sterimar Nasal spray. I use it every morning when I wake up and after about a month I have noticed something rather curious. Several times when outside I have noticed a strange, but no unpleasant smell. I could not identify it, but eventually realised that I was smelling fresh air! I have also noticed that my sense of smell and taste is coming back, fully. I also seem to be suffering a good deal less from headaches than I did before. (One sinus headache that did develop was cured when I took my morning spray.
And I can only attribute these improvements in my health to the Sterimar Saline Nasal spray. I was wrong. Due to these improvements (which are nothing short of miraculous) I now no longer think that paying £6.00 is "not exactly cheap." It is well worth every penny and I can heartily recommend this product.
If you or someone you know suffers with their sinuses I can heartily recommend Sterimar Saline Nasal Spray. I only wish my doctor had heard of it, as if I had started taking Sterimar a long time ago, I would have been able to miss years of misery caused by totally unnecessary sinus problems.

i've suffered from sinus problems for at least a year now, causing headaches and even a strange sore nerve point on my face i finally went a researching on friday for cures. there's a device that costs about £108 which steam cleans your nostrils, but I decided to give the sterimar spray a go first.
wow, after 3 days use I notice the difference - proper spray in the morning to clean, and a quick spray at night to moisturise - i can breathe without feeling a twinge in my head, and my snoring is reduced...
