I am very new to the whole painting game but I have decided to give it a go, since the new flat I've moved into has hot pink walls that are just too much!
I bought these Harris brushes from Woolworths just before they closed down. They seemed like a bargain. Since then I've discovered they are widely sold everywhere.
I brought some paint testers and away I went...
first impressions:
they look nice
light and comfortable
seemed to distribute the paint fairly evenly
But then...They shed bristles!!!
This is extremely annoying. I got tried of scratching them out from where they became plastered to the walls with the paint. Once they had been removed I'd have a tiny gap in the paint coverage that was difficult to blend in with the surroundings.
In the end, I got fed up and and relied on the little brushes that come ...
Advantages: Makes cleaning pump an easy task. Disadvantages: Wear out quickly, sometimes rust can form.
This product is a must for fishkeeper with a filter, i.e everyone. There are two different sizes of brush in the packet, the smaller of which I find vital for the cleaning of the impeller in my filters, and they are also useful as a miniture bottle brushes.
However, the brushs do wear out quickly, and I have to say that they are a bit on the pricey side when you consider what they actually are. I find that the bristles on the small brush fall off quickly, and so you end up with lots of big brushes, and no small brushes. Although the use of these are important, it may be better if you try and find something more economical. The cleaning of your filters are IMPORTANT, so make sure you clean regularly to avoid problems. ...

I bought in the most gorgeous shade of lavender although the colour is actually called poppy
What first attracted me was the packaging of the tin, the eye-shadow comes in a round pan of polished silver (although its not silver but its soooo shiny)
Unlike other products from the Stila range the eye-shadow pans do not feature the Stila girl drawings although this is part of what I like about the brand they don't use celebrity picture to endorse the products its an artistic female caricature and that makes the range unique
The eye-shadow is set into the small round aluminium pan, when you lift off the lid which is embossed with a design, the underneath of the lid has a little mini quite in it which was very sweet I think its a common factor in the eye-shadow range
When I got the eye-shadow home I wanted to test it out straight away ...
