Advantages: Too many it wouldnt let me list them all! See review :) Disadvantages: None!
protection will help prevent the skin from burning and the damage that can cause skin cancer. Remember - UVB - BURNING
As i am very white, the facial sun cream i have is chosen is spf factor 50+ which is pretty much total block. It is a physical filter which bounces UV rays away from the skin. Lower factors act as chemical filters on the skin which absorb the rays so you dont take in as much.
For those who may not know, spf (sun protection factor) is the level of protection and in my case, 50 times the protection against burning.
Boots Soltan 50+ also contains high UVA protection (spfs primarily focus on UVB) so thats something to check in your sun cream aswell.
This is normally shown by the number of little stars in the circle on the tube.
Boots Soltan Facial Sun Cream (for sensitive skin) is currently on offer (the whole range ...
Advantages: Don't have to keep re-applying, waterproof, factor 50 Disadvantages: Quite thick so hard to rub in and tube could be bigger!
Seen as it's July and were having a `heat wave'!! it;s even more important to protect our kids from the sun.
I have, like most parents, tried and tested numerous sun creams, from the really, really expensive to the well, not so expensive that you buy on holiday cos youv'e run out!!. The only, and I mean only, one that I have found to do the job of protecting my kids is the Avon `Bronze Kids', Sun Lotion. It's brilliant, not only is it factor 50, but it is fully waterproof, which I can deffinately vouch for as I had a `splodge' of it on my arm, and when getting in the shower about 2 hours later, couldn't remember what this was and could not get it off, I thought I had caught some skin disease!!.
I am so confident that this works that I only have to apply it once to both my children when they are playing in the garden all day ...
Advantages: Gives you a glow, good quality, pleasant texture and smell Disadvantages: Possibly the price, some skin types may not like the consistency.
What is it, and what does it claim to do?
An illuminating tinted moisturiser from Stila. Unlike many products, it doesn't make any major claims in writing on the product or packaging. For uses it states that it can "provide moderate protection from sunburn", due to it's SPF 15 rating. However, most people that buy it use it for it's illuminating effects, and the sunscreen factor is an added benefit.
Packaging
The 50ml product comes in a simple brown box with a sticker on the top telling you which shade you have inside. It is straightforward, non-fuss packaging which gathered no complaints from me. If you prefer to save make-up boxes, then this one would survive a box of similar toiletries without becoming too scruffy. I personally like the simplicity of the packaging, though with my eco-hat on, I should probably ...
