Really like thic chair and it does exactly what we wanted it to. Our second son was straight at the table and joined in family meals as soon as he started solid food. It is pricey but we intend to... more

Advantages Advantages Beautiful to look at, safe and comfortable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

We bought a Stokke Tripp Trapp after strong recommendations from several friends, and if I am honest, because of the way it looks. The Stokke is a lovely chair, in a different league to other high chairs on the market. Its a sleek wooden high chair and comes in a wide range of colours and finishes. We bought from a specialist site called back in action as they have a nice "design" facility on their website which helps you choose colours and accessories. As high chairs go its probably one of the most expensive on the market at around £100 plus £20 for the baby set, but I would rate it good ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing longevity, looks good

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, no purpose built anchorage straps

Tripp Trapp chair By Stokke A fully adjustable child’s chair constructed in quality wood and designed by Peter Opsvick. It is suitable for babies from around 6 months to 99 years, and is probably the only chair completely geared to accommodate a growing child. The chair costs £147 complete from Stokke direct, and can be reviewed on the Internet. Available in most countries by mail order, Stokke has sold over three and a half million Tripp Trapp chairs since 1972. The design of this chair has revolutionised the whole concept of furniture. It grows with the user, with no loss of comfort ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent quality, really solid, baby can join in family meals at the table

Disadvantages Disadvantages Personally haven't found any yet.....

I'm so pleased with this chair! The Tripp Trapp is a Swedish design which has been developed in order to grow with your baby right through to adulthood. They have been around for ages, and I know various family friends who have had the same chair(s) for twenty-five years, now using them at the computer or still at the kitchen table. So the longevity of a product like that is a distinct advantage, particularly since with highchairs the usual shelf-life is so short and they end up in the loft / cellar after a few years. The quality of the wood, and the design, contributes to this longevity. It ... more

Advantages Advantages Seems to help children learn better from parents and to be more content

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not suitable for breakfast bars.

I'm a sceptic about marketing so Tripp Trapp's popularity makes me want to dislike it. Yet I now so love this design that I have to hasten the demise of tacky high chairs and booster seats. Last year, as an interior designer and soon to be new parent I hated the idea of putting an ugly high chair into my home. I saw an advert for a Stokke Tripp Trapp with a crying child and the expression "its OK" and the perversity of this image instantly attracted me. I had previously been rather suspicious of the smiling babies I saw on every billboard. Behind the marketing I found out from the web that ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent support even when child is very young.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price: about £150

I bought the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair when my child was 5 months old. At the time she could not properly support herself when seated. The chair is a masterpiece of ergonomic design. Other high chairs I have tried use a harness system, which I have found diffcult to adjust. On the Tripp Trapp, the curved back support and comfortable front bar automatically hold baby snuggly and comfortably. You have to assemble the chair yourself but, though I am usually hopeless at such things, I had no difficulties. The chair does not have a tray (and consequently is very easy to clean). Baby sits at the ... more
