I started biting my nails when I was 7. After many more years biting them, I decided to stop...

Note to all who are attempting to give up and why I wanted to give up; To be honest learning that you could contract a parasite infection (such as the tapeworm, that sits in your intestine and eats away at your food- getting bigger, each day,) never stopped me biting my nails- I think the reason for this was because I couldn't physically see the damage inside me, if there was ever a tapeworm. The reason why I stopped around 2 weeks ago, was because I found that nail biting gives you a 40% higher chance of catching a cold and a sore throat. I have to say- Sore throats are worse for me than a headache!! As they then go to my lungs (as a really nasty cough)- the weakest part of my body, after I had contracted phenomena- this is why I stopped the biting!!! It is also good to note- that you will need some will power, (as you would when giving up smoking- with Nicorette, it will help but not stop,) as growing your nails after a decade of abuse, will mean that they have to push passed the skin around the nail plate. This can be extremely uncomfortable- but after a week or perhaps two weeks of growth it should subside (I have found pushing a nail file under the nail, has helped with the discomfort.)

Applying the Nail Biting deterrent; To apply Stop and Grow- you use the nail varnish type brush. This then give's a benefit (and a problem if you are a male,) the benefit is that you do not cover the whole finger, so the bitter taste will not re-adjust the flavour of your food! On the other hand however, males do look as if they are applying nail varnish or clear nail polish with Stop and Grow!

Washes of easily? (and the taste)

(Quick Experiment) Oh YUCK (Big Gulp of coffee)- no it certainly does not come of easily! After applying it (washing my hands, with soap and then drying them) the exceedingly, bitter nasty flavour (the initial taste of Toxic Waste sweets come to mind!) was still there- I find this particularly effective if you let the stuff dry after applying as it tends to stick to your nail- rather like Pritt Stick! Though after consistent contact with other items, I recommend reapplying this after Breakfast, Lunch and Tea, so you are less likely to rather randomly re apply it every other day- as it is very easy to forget!

Special Features; As well as stopping you- it is supposed to help you grow your nails again- by strengthening them, I would agree, it seemed to of done It’s secondary job(s) so far! As an added bonus- it also made my nails look a little more glossy- but I am not sure if that is a good thing, as I am a Male- and my name is not “Gok Wan.”

Price and Value For Money; You can buy this product at most chemists, such as Superdrug, Boot’s and at Lloyds Pharmacy. You will be charged £4.70 for 7 milliliters, this is good value compared to others that charge £8.50 for the same quantity. I bought mine at Boot’s for £4.50- earning 16 points on your Boot’s advantage card.

I would like to thank you all for reading my review- and say that it may be published on Dooyoo later on this year

I'm also slightly bemused by the timeframe mentioned here.

(Paragraph one) - you mentioned you looked at your hands a 'few days' ago - your nails weren't good, so got this product from Boots. Two weeks later your nails are good. There is a huge flaw in this statement, hence, the rate.

I remember my mother forcing me to use a similasr product when I was a kid - it didn't work! I simply grew out of nail biting - probably around the same age that you are now. R.

Much preferable to the alternative preventive methods, I'd guess.
