...much much prettier). The Trust EasyConnect Card Reader is a USB 2 device which does its job without fuss or fault. It accepts cards via the front panel or the back panel and handles (amongst othersCompact Flash, Mini Drive, SMC, XD (for Fuji and Olympus), MS, MMC, and SD cards. Basically, if you have a memory card for your camera, music player, handheld pc, or phone, the chance are this will access it. One of the great things about this device ...
...around) is that is has two lights on the front. A blue one which shows the power is on and a red one which flashes when it is accessing a card. Now these lights are incredibly light and the blue one shines like a beacon. Once you install this card reader, windows will usually pick it up straight away. I have had no problems with it on Windows XP, XP 64 bit, Vista and Vista 64 bit. It recognises the drive immediately and loads drivers automatically. ...

Delkin eFilm External card reader When my old card reader died on me, I rushed straight out to find a new card reader as I had about 200 plus photos waiting to be uploaded and printed and all on my camera card. To be honest, I wasn’t looking at high spec or anything else the reader had to offer – all I wanted was an external reader to enable me to upload photo images and so I went for one of the cheapest in the local computer shop (which is actually ...

High quality, solidy built. Worth the money.

Advantages: Solid build and good connectors. You get what you pay for.
Disadvantages: Tight space for cables inside the case.

http://www.lindy.co.uk Good quality kit which means it worth the extra few quid. Contrasting it with the previous bit of kit it offers the following clear advantages: * No cheap cooling fan that rivals an overhead 747 for noise * The SATA to eSATA connector and power supply connectors fit nice and snugly. No wobbles. * The external eSATA connector is also a snug and firm fit. * It can be laid flat or upright on a stand (supplied) The only drawback ...

Cheap and reliable cdrs

Advantages: cheap, reliable, work on a wide range of hifis
Disadvantages: garish colour may put some people off

Geeks cdrs are cheap and cheerful, coming in spindle packs of fifty or a hundred, which are available in most independent computer shops and cost around £6 for 50 and £9 or so for a hundred. You can also buy them on ebay for only a few pounds more. Such a low price would indicate that they may be of less than high quality, but in my experience they are perfectly suitable both for use as data disks and audio cds. Some audio cdrs are picky about which ...
...such problems with geeks disks, which appear to play perfectly on a wide range of audio systems. Having burned 30 or 40 cds I have only had one failure occur during the burning process (leading to one wasted cdr), and even then it wasn't clear whether this failure was due to the disk itself or to a computer error. Each disk holds 700mb of data or 60 minutes of audio and is compatible with cdrw drives of upto 52x speeds, and the spindle packs represent ...

Review of Geeks 700 MB CD-R 52x

It works!

Advantages: value for money, kit includes all that is needed, deals with minor scratches well, easy to use
Disadvantages: It will not deal with deep scratches (but then again it was not meant for these!)

I recently bought this product as I wanted to take care of a number of scratched CDs that were misbehaving when I tried to use them (the CDs were mostly skipping although one of them would not even play) . I was unsure about the stuff but, given its relatively low price, I decided to give it a try. The kit itself arrived nicely packaged and contained a tube of (abrasive) paste, a small CD tray (the "work base"), 10 soft wipes, and some simple instructions. ...
...was to place the CD on the work base, shake the tube, add two drops of the paste on the surface of the CD, and then use one of the wipes all over it in straight-line movements from the centre to the edge of the CD. So, I picked one of my working CDs with minor scratches to give the thing a try. The CD fitted snugly onto the work base - which has a thin, soft cloth lining to protect the printed side of the disc from damage - and the tube was relatively ...
