A handy little gadget
Review of Sandisk MobileMate SD Plus by
Sparklemouse
Advantages: Lightweight, portable, slim
Disadvantages: Protective cap is a bit loose, cards could be vulnerable for the clumsy
I bought this card reader from amazon to speed up transfer of photos between my digital camera and my PC (saves the camera battery). I only used an SD card with the reader, so I cannot comment on the other formats. It is an attractive slim black USB stick with two slots that (the amazon website says) are compatible with the following formats:
MultiMediaCard, SD Memory Card, miniSD, RS-MMC, MultiMediaCardmobile, microSD, MultiMediaCardplus, SDHC ... ...a little skimpy, It was really easy to install on the PC, requiring no software (just put it in a USB slot & let your computer install it for you). Plugging in my SD card was quite simple (do this before you plug the reader into your PC!) but I did feel that the card looked quite vulnerable poking out the side of the reader (could be easy to knock or break?). Transfer of files was very easy & much less fiddly than a camera to PC transfer. Overall, ...

USB Card Reader With Free 1GB SD Card
Review of Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Reader by
Surj1
Advantages: 9 in 1 card reader, 1GB SD card, Compact design
Disadvantages: None
The Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Card Reader is the only device you need to store, transfer and read data on any USB enabled device. As I use a variety of flash cards for mobile phone, digital camera and camcorder.
This card reader is designed with a USB 2.0 connector which is ideal to connect via you PC or laptop. It has memory expansion slots that support nine different types of SD and MMC flash memory cards. It also comes with a 1 GB SD memory ... ...year warranty
Overall the Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Card Reader is a very useful device if you have a variety of other devices which use media cards for storage. When in use the MobileLite shows as three drive letters G:, H:, I: and transferring data is simply drag and drop. I bought this from Ebay and got it very cheap for £5, it retails at around £20. This was a bargain as you can't even get a 1GB SD card for that price. Overall a decent and ...

My Sandisk MobileMate 4-in-1 Review
Review of Sandisk MobileMate 4-in-1 by
Boogalicious
Advantages: Cheap, Convenient and Reliable
Disadvantages: Memory Card Sticks Out - Some Little Annoyances
...times the price).
The Sandisk MobileMate came with a USB travel cable, an extra cap with a keyring and a miniature “installation” disk for Windows 98 drivers and instruction manual in multiple languages.
However so far I have not used any of the additional components, the MobileMate fits comfortably in any conventional computer USB port thus the lack of needing the travel cable, both USB covers fits tight and secure and the MobileMate has worked ... ...or prevent access – the Sandisk MobileMate fails to provide.
Lastly I can’t help but feel conned to the product name “4-in-1” – this is mostly due to my haste of buying the product but nevertheless in the end it is compatible with memory stick and all it’s smaller counter parts (except for M2 – unless you have an adapter) therefore technically 1 slot and 1 type of card.
All the others are just it’s smaller later editions, all of which can be extended ...

Why has no-one thought of this before?
Review of Kingston DataTraveler Reader by
dhillcrest
Advantages: easy clever little
Disadvantages: None I can find!
...is fair enough, not polished chrome but seems decent.
I'm finding it to be very smart indeed and a really good investment for less than £20. Memory stick......SD card reader....little size...big memory. Dead simple, almost obvious idea. Brilliant!
Oh, and Kingston give a 5 year guarantee as well! ...
