Argos Card - Never, EVER again, a complete joke. Advantages: We found none. We should have paid outright or got a pay monthly plan from Currys Disadvantages: Incompetent and rude staff, adding random charges and items to our account, harasing and stressful The Argos card was easy to apply for, and quite convenient. Or so we thought. We were offered 'buy now, pay 12 months later' scheme in September 2008. In February 2009, we started getting letters telling us the full balance was now due. We made a phonecall to Argos and I spoke to a very rude saleswoman who kept rather annoyingly repeating "you would have been told what the scheme was when you first took out the credit, it's not our mistake". After ... ...a near daily basis by Argos asking us to pay the balance of our account immediately (our original purchase was £955, the statement now totals near £2,500), and after I insist to them this is their error (after which they INSIST we MUST have used our Argos card for additional purchases), they eventually see that there is an adjustment on another system (?) and both (?) systems aren't showing our correct details. Rubbish Service from GE Money Advantages: Points System Disadvantages: Very very poor customer service ...service from GE Money of House of Fraser credit cards is absolute rubbish. GE Moneys automated customer service helpline just does not work, when I call the support line the service is very rarely able to understand the card number that I read out and offers no option to type the number into the telephone handset. Whilst you’d have to cut my legs off to get me away from Diesel when it comes to buying jeans, for pretty much everything else in my wardrobe, you can guarantee I’ll have bought it in USC. For those of you who’ve never heard of it, USC is a clothes store (for men and women). However, USC stores are continually emblazoned with various posters and leaflets advertising certain deals if you take out one of their storecards.
