A Cinderella Story

Advantages: it's an interesting and well written book
Disadvantages: none

Kim Woodburn is best known these days as being the tall bossy one of the pair of ladies on the TV show "How Clean is Your House?" I really enjoy watching this programme (how do people live like that?). Unfortunately when it's over I always get this subliminal urge to go and clean my kitchen! I had heard about this book and even thought about buying it, but when I found it in my local library I had to bring it home and read it. It didn't disappoint. The subtitle of the book "The story of my Brutal Childhood" kind of gives the game away as regards the story. Kim was bought up by her violent mother as her father was away in the Royal Marines much of the time. Review of Unbeaten: The Story of My Brutal Childhood - Kim Woodburn

What if the stories you told came to life?

Advantages: Magical story, fun family entertainment
Disadvantages: Typical Sandler silly in places

help out. The only thing Skeeter is any good at doing is telling bedtime stories with the help of a goggly eyed hamster and the children. But when their imaginative stories begin to come true, Skeeter sees an opportunity to get everything he's ever dreamed of. ~ Cast ~ Skeeter Bronson - Adam Sandler Jill - Keri Russell Mickey - Russell Brand Patrick - Jonathan Morgan Heit Bobbi - Laura Ann Kesling Kendall - Guy Pearce Barry Nottingham - Richard Griffiths Violet Nottingham - Teresa Palmer Wendy - Courteney Cox I'm not a huge fan of Adam Sandler as I can't stand plain stupid films which tend to be his main genre of films but this looked like an enjoyable one so decided to give it a go anyway. As expected, Sandler does once again play a silly character yet it doesn't end up being over the top or completely ...

Bedtime Stories - What If...

Advantages: Entertaining, visually pleasing, great special-effects.
Disadvantages: Character development.

Director: Adam Shankman Screenplay: Matt Lopez & Tim Herlihy Genre: Comedy - Family - Fantasy Country: USA Certification: PG Language: English DVD Release: 27th April, 2009 (UK) MAIN CAST: Adam Sandler (Skeeter Bronson) Jonathan Morgan Heit (Patrick) Laura Ann Kesling (Bobbi) Courteney Cox (Wendy) Keri Russell (Jill) Skeeter Bronson is just your average guy, albeit a tad naïve and given to feeling sorry for himself when things don't go his way, his greatest fault is his inability to think of anyone or anything else once he's got his mind set on something... and Skeeter's got loads on his mind - ever since his father sold the family motel they lived in to a rich developer who ended up turning it into a posh hotel, Skeeter has been waiting to be made manager. The terms of the sale were that Skeeter would ...
