Wish I'd read these reviews before I bought!! Purchased a 61GDOT (stainless steel, all gas ovens, electric 3KW grill). Initial impressions were that it is a VERY stylish piece in stainless and the doors, in particular, feel solid and have a satisfying clunk when closed. The door bar handles are also solid and feel durable. On delivery ours was missing its cast iron pan supports which was frustrating, as these appeared to have been omitted during the manufacturers packing process! These were quickly replaced by the supplier, and again, are well designed and of a nice quality. Both ovens are wide and make good use of the space available, although we purchased a third oven shelf almost immediately. Both ovens are well lit, light easily, and the oven shelves are strong and functional.
That is where the good points end Im afraid. Our first dissappointment was the brown enamelled cooker top (I expected this to be stainless) which also very tinny sounding. We did get used to this. The adjustable screw feet are also cheap and non-locking, and frustratingly screw themselves back in, meaning constant adjustment is required. The next surprise was the very noisy oven fan that automatically comes on and stays on every time you use either oven. The oven takes a long time to get to to temperature and we NEVER managed to get it to achieve gas mark 9! After 6 weeks of mild use one of the oven lamps failed and the special high temperature halogen-type bulb cost almost 20 pounds to replace myself, as the supplier (Next) considered this fair wear and tear. 3 weeks later the second oven bulb blew and I eventially replaced both bulbs with much cheaper and brighter normal temperature variants which have so far lasted 4 months without hitch. Then CRITICALLY, at 5 months of very light use, one of the oven knobs split open internally, leaving the oven on despite the dial showing the oven as turned off. The knobs are stainless steel effect plastic, and inspection showed a further 3 knobs were cracked. As my wife had burnt her hand on the hot oven we lost confidence that replacement knobs would also not fail, and opted (after some battle with the supplier) to replace with a Cannon. From other reviews on this site, this is a common problem with this model - you have been warned.
