I've just finish my honours BA in Marketing and Human Resource Management at Strathclyde University. The reason I decided to go to that uni was because it was close to where I live and it had a good record of teaching for the Business School. I found that the teaching at the uni was good although one drawback was that there was a real focus on teamwork and the majority of my assignments were in the form of group presentations and reports. I thought this was a negative because it meant that my marks were affected by the performance of my group members.

The Strathclyde campus is situated between High Street and Queen Street stations in Glasgow and there are various carparks such as the one next to High Street station meaning that its easy to access and there's good transport links especially since Buchanan Street bus station is only a couple of minutes walk away.

The uni has a large library but only stocks couple of each book in the long loan library meaning that its hard to access the books on your reading lists. The uni has access to a range of electronic resources and journals which can be accessed remotely when your off-campus. There are computer labs in many of the buildings and the uni also has a wireless connection meaning that you can log on from your laptop in lectures to take notes if you want.

The union in Strathclyde is massive. There's various places in the union to get food - The Priory, Gameszone, Millers, Food Court and Toby's and there's various other cafe's spread through the campus such as the Java cafe which is an internet cafe with free access. There's the Darkroom, Barony and Veritgo for nights out. The union has live bands and allnighters throughout the year. You can also volunteer in the uni in the Ask4 service, Nightline, Rag, Radio or the Strathclyde Telegraph.

There's also the sports union and the sports centre, as well as various clubs like the subaqua, fencing and archery clubs so there's plenty to do!

Overall the quality of teaching is good and the workload is manageable. I've just started back now doing the graduate llb in law and I'm really enjoying it. The law department is excellent and the subjects are interesting!
