When LAPD Officer Cynthia Decker hears the cries of a newborn infant buried beneath a rubbish heap, she can't understand who would commit such a wretched crime. But when it becomes...
more...apparent that the culprit is a vulnerable young woman, she is determined to protect her. It is Cindy's first major case since she was brutally stalked and she knows she cannot do it alone. Help comes from the usual source, her father, LAPD Lieutenant Peter Decker, and from a surprising ally, a handsome pediatric nurse. But when events turn deadly, Decker implores his daughter to back off and leave the crime-solving to those more experienced. Ignoring her father, Cindy charges forward and is thrown into a violent, twisted journey which threatens her fragile, new relationship and endangers her very life.

Full review
Having not read anything by Faye Kellerman before, I had no idea what to expect. Before I share with you my thoughts, I would like to tell you a little about the author.

Faye Kellerman has been voted New York Times best seller of popular thrillers about Peter Decker & Rina Lazurus. She has also written a historical novel called "The Quality of Mercy" and a non series thriller called "Moon Music". She is married to best selling writer and psychologist Jonathon Kellerman and lives in Los Angeles with their children.

Street Dreams is based on a LAPD officer Cynthia Decker, daughter of Lieutenant Peter Decker. Officer Decker finds a baby dumped in a rubbish heap, using contacts of her own and the help of her father Cynthia has to try and locate the baby's mother. You also learn and appreciate that Cynthia has had to overcome many obstacles in her life and that this is her first case since being brutally stalked. Help to overcome these obstacles comes from her new love interest. As Cynthia works harder on the case, other crimes connected with the dumping of the baby also unfold and she finds herself in a vicious, violent and brutal journey to uncover the truth.

I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish, although it refers to her previous case quite alot. Not having any knowledge of the traumatic experience that had occured previously it bacame quite confusing at times. Which has only made me intrigued to read this novel which I believe is called "Stalker".

Street Dreams is a fast paced novel that made me feel like I was caught up in a world of law, crimes, mystery and passion.
I literally felt like I was part of the story. Being brought into a fast paced Hollywood world with all its good and bad points, to the streets of Munich where life was very hard at the hands of Hitler.

Lieutenant Decker and his wife Rina try to uncover the truth of what happened to Rina's grandmother in the streets of Munich where she was found brutally murdered. With the Jewish traditions of Cynthia's step - family and with her new love interest being an Ethiopian - jew who shares his life freely you really are taken to another level in terms of novels. I felt well travelled after reading it!

This is by far the best that I have read in a long time and it is so well written. Faye Kellerman is spot on with setting the scene. The characters really do come to life as your brain paints an amazing picture.

This best seller cost £10.99 and was worth every penny but I would recommend reading the first book about Cynthia Decker's life. That is exactly what I plan to read next.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope that it has helped in some way!

Faye Kellerman deserves 10/10 for this page turner! I just couldn't put it down!
