A true workhorse of a bike

Advantages: Ecomomy, Reliability, Performance
Disadvantages: size and looks against other bikes

This is a perfect bike if you've just passed your test. I had a 550 Virago before this and is truely a breath of fresh air. Performnace is very good for the size of the bike, sits at 80 or 90 easily on the motorway, even two up or with luggage on the back. I took my bike round europe for 4 weeks and did 5000 miles and didn't have one fault. its fule economy is excellent. About £11-£14 to fill up depending on petrol prices and touring at 80mph easily ...

Kawasaki GPZ 500 Honest review!

Advantages: Reliability, cost, engine.
Disadvantages: Brakes,front end handling.

...rear silencers are fine, but kawasaki (in their wisdom) decided to make the downpipes out of mild steel, (on a comuter! GRRR) which rust massively, i have had my exhaust off twice so far and rubbed it down, then treated it with rust-off then sprayed it with high temp paint. If you decide to get one, invest in some stainless downpipes, there about 70-80 quid and well worth it! So there you have it, i think this an honest overal review. A great ...

Kawasaki Z750 - Commute, scratch and tour.

Advantages: Handles well for a 'budget' bike, friendly for newbies and fun for the experienced. Engine good
Disadvantages: Suspension could do with improvement, brakes are only so-so.

Well, having passed my full motorcycle test (Restricted A2, 33bhp for 2 years) back in December, I wanted to quickly get rid of my 2k7 (and getting very expensive to run (+ uneconomical, noisy and useless at long distance faster riding) RS125. I kind of bought the Z750 on impulse. It was a good price for me (some £400 below parkers list) and for a 5 year old bike, incredibily clean. I would commute and enjoy occasional fun runs for about 800 miles ...
...EU regulations, so obviously performance now is merely adequate, but beforehad the 750's powerplant would give you all the performance you'd need (and want) on a public highway! Handling wise, well, let's say that in the corners it has no trouble dealing with being thrown about, so long as the road isn't really bumpy, then it starts to get a bit unsettled. It had no problem scratching around the twisties and it's confidence inspiring enough to leave ...

...even tuck your knees into the tank.... Great bit of design. If you know the Z series you'll see that it has just been cosmetically upgraded to suit modern market and kawasaki are just playing on a good engine. Thanks kawasaki. I'll try to add more as time progresses... ...
