Advantages: Detailed, labelled illustrations. Descriptions of proper form. Disadvantages: Quite advanced, no advice on approaches to resistance training, only a reference.

Firstly let me state that this book should be approached more for reference, rather than a guide to building muscle. It is packed with fantastic illustrations of various resistance exercises, stating which muscles are used, tips and advice, and an explanation of proper form for the appropriate exercise.
The book is split into 7 chapters: Arms, Shoulders, Chest, Back, Legs, Buttocks and Abdomen, and contains various exercises for almost all the muscles in that certain group. It also includes pages on common injuries and how to avoid and deal with them.
However, it does not contain any information about approaches to strengh training: for example rep ranges and their effect, set structure etc. For this reason i would not recommend this book for someone without this prior knowledge.
Being a Fitness Instructor myself, i found this book insightful and interesting. It is useful as a reference when coming up with programmes and added to my knowledge. I bought it off Amazon for £9.89 so the price was reasonable. I would therefore recommend it to other fitness instructors/personal trainers as a handy tool to have on the bookshelf.
Bottom line - Recommend for anyone with existing fitness knowledge looking for a handy glossary of exercises, and descriptions of proper exercise form. Not recommended for beginners wishing to begin weight training without previous knowledge, sk a professional for more relevant information.
