Advantages: It is a Chris Ryan novel Disadvantages: A little too predictable
I have always thought ChrisRyan as a wonderful novelist. But The Increment is not anywhere near his best.
? Having noted that some of his facts were defiantly not well researched, specifically when it comes to the Glock 17, I chalked it up to fiction.
? Predictable ? knew the ending right about the time of the beginning.
? ?Corny? in the Hollywoodish sense. Been there, done that ? over and over again. Just didn?t work well in this novel.
? I was able to skip pages at a time and still keep in pace with the story line.
The Increment has it good points though. Characters were familiar and the plot is decent. If you have never read ChrisRyan before, start with this novel. It just won?t be the same if his previous books are read first. ...
Jay and Silent Bob StrikeBack is the follow up from Mallrats and another film which I can’t remember the name for, and others like Dogma. However, in those films, Jay and Silent Bob were not the main characters, just there for comedic purposes, in this film, they get full run!
For those of you who don’t know who Jay and Silent Bob are, they are basically two dumb junkeys who basically stand outside a shop. Yer, and that’s about it, that’s their life. Don’t sound that great does it, but give the film a chance and I do think you would be quite entertained with what’s shown on the screen in front of you.
It’s directed by Kevin Smith, and now I know the names of the films that Jay & Silent Bob were part of, being Dogma, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Clerks and Lucy You Love It. Not having seen any ...
Advantages: This is my favourite Chris Ryan book and i have them all Disadvantages: As much as i tried i could not guess the twists
ChrisRyan is an ex SAS soldier who writes novels based loosely on his experiences of combat.
During the original Gulf War, Ryan was the only member of an eight man team to escape from Iraq; three colleagues were killed and four were captured. This was the longest escape and evasion in the history of the SAS and the tale was written in the autobiographical bestseller 'The One That Got Away'.
Since the initial non-fiction book ChrisRyan has written 8 novels as well as a couple of non-fiction and children's books and it is thought that the powers that be in British Intelligence are not happy with Ryan who they feel has made their trade secrets known to enemies and civilians.
The Watchman is the most complete Ryan novel I have read, telling the story of an SAS soldier paid by British Intelligence to track and kill an assassin ...
