I vowed that I would never drink cider again. As a youngster, and as many of you probably have done yourself, its all part and parcel of growing up that when you are out with your friends you have a bottle of cider, normally the cheap white cider along the lines of in my day, White Lightening, White Knight and Graphite, and if you had a bit morer extra pocket money than the rest, then you might even be able to afford Diamond White. The amount of times that I had made myself ill and vowed never to touch the stuff ever again.

However, now as a grown up, cider is probably one of my favourite and most refreshing drinks that i choose, in particular Strongbow, which is always nice, after a hard days graft to come home to an ice cold pint to unwind with.

Strongbow normally is the main brand of cider that public houses tend to stock and is one of the best selling cider's in the UK. Manufactured by Bulmers, who were founded in 1887, Strongbow has one of the largest presence in the UK today.

Manufactured in various format, this product can be purchased in cans and bottles of various sizes and can now be obtained in various varieties including the Strongbow Sirrus range which has a unique and tasty flavours and the new Strongbow Jacques which is flavoured and I am yet to taste.

Strongbow itself is best to serve ice cold to appreciate the taste of the beverage. Being 5.4% in alcoholic volume, it only takes a couple of pints to get me tipsy. The taste itself is not too over powering. Its very fizzy in itself, as some ciders sometimes tend to seem a little bit flat, however that is how they are produced. Strongbow reminds me of carbonated water in some aspects with an alcoholic flavouring and a hnt of apples in the after taste.
Its appearance looks very fizzy, and is very is not too dark in colour and looks just like apple juice.

Strongbow has a big advertising campaign behind it and with it being one of the best sellers in the UK, it needs it, and all adverts follow the same format of what a refreshing change and it certainly is. I do find though that when present in Europe, it does not have as much presence as in the UK, and I have to some countries and when it has been hot, I have craved for a nice pint of my favourite tipple and not been able to have one.

Its worth having a bottle or a couple of cans of this in the fridge whilst the weather is as good as it is.
