Great value
Advantages: lasts forever, has everything needed easy to run Disadvantages: not as many bells and whistles or as many choices in fiddling with sound
At almost 10 years old one can look at the mixer and tell that it is old. Many people want the smaller stylish mixers but this mixer has served the bar faithfully since the day we opened in 2000 and has been put through the grinder in tests to break it.
It is larger but due to that everything looks more spaced out and you ahve room to plug in all your inputs and outputs without getting frustrated. To anyone familiar with sound equipment it is easy ... ...bit confusing.
The cross fader is a dream when you are running two seperate single disc cd players and the fine tuning on the sound is acceptable even though you do not have as much choice as the newer boards give you.
Many knobs are missing on our mixer due to the dj table breaking and the mixer hitting the ground but it still holds up the test of time.
It also pushes out quite a nice sound especially when figuring everything we are running is ...

Behringer Xenyx - A Bedroom Musician's Dream.
Advantages: Cheap, Professional, Easy to use Disadvantages: None
...is buying the brand name. Behringer know that musicians often aren't made of money, which i find refreshing, and means that Behringer are amongst the brands i can trust.
What Does the Xenyx 2442FX Do?
The Xenyx is a 24-Input powered mixer that has 10 Phantom Power Microphone Preamps; several channel inputs for 1/4 inch jacks or phantom inputs; a state of the art 24-bit effects processor with delay, reverb, flanger etc; and 38 various different ... ...many inputs for you - Behringer have designed different Xenyx models with 5, 10, 12, 16, 18 or 22 inputs; all of which are lower priced. This is a great product for professional recording quality on a budget. Definitely consider buying this product to improve your sound - and make sure you avoid the big boys Korg etc that will make you pay thousands. ...

Pro quality home recording at home on a budget
Advantages: Good value and flexible mixer, works well with PC. Cubase is a nice bonus. Disadvantages: Knobs not sliders, no MP3 encoder with Cubase but these are minor details
...the PC looked like the Alesis Firewire range. Firewire (or IEEE 1394 to give it it's technical name) is another way of connecting devices to a PC similar to USB but offering better data transfer performance. Most modern PCs now come with a firewire connection as standard but, if you have an older PC that doesn't, you can always get a firewire PCI expansion card for under £10. You may notice that the mixer has two firewire connections but this is ... ...lines of knobs on the Alesis multimix 8) when it's a so called 8 track mixer but that's the way it goes I'm afraid. I know, I always found it confusing when my friend would tell me his 8 track could only record 4 simultaneous tracks and it's a throwback to the old tape multi-track systems. Each of the 6 tracks (or channels) has it's own 3 band EQ (LOW 80Hz, MID 2.5kHz and HI 12kHz), two AUX gains for external or internal effects, a pan control (for ...

Pioneer DJM 500
Advantages: Build quality, built in effects, sound Disadvantages: Not enough decent effects, sound is not as good as other newer mixers
...of these or a similar Pioneer product? I think not. I believe the advantages of the Allen & Heath Xone series outweigh Pioneer's mixers. Even so, I will still have a place in my heart for the DJM-500 as it was my very first mixer. I highly recommend this mixer to anybody who is starting out and want a mixer which is built like a brick and sounds good. ...

THE MIXER!
Advantages: Great all round durability Disadvantages: None.
How great is this mixer? ive had mine for about 6 years now, and unlike the pioneers range of cd players, this mixer has never somewhat 'gone out of fashion', ive seen it on many films and music videos, the features on the mixer are absolultley outstanding and work very well with other pionner products, i have it with 2 cdj1000 scratch dj cd players and the durablility is amazing, i would strongly reccommend this mixer to any sort of dj. The autobpm ...
