Disadvantages: maybe a little expensive for the spec

KRK's Rock my world
Review of KRK K-Rock KR-V6 by MysterE909

Advantages: Beautiful clear sound, compact, sturdy, great connections.
Disadvantages: none

So i went to a pro-audio shop and listened to a few speakers (MSP5's, Genelec's, and fostex pm1's) but when they put these particular model on, i was blown away, i had the new boards of canada album to use for reference (amongst other cd's), and boy did it sound like it should have. The stereo imaging of these monitors is great, the low frequency response goes allt he way down to 50hz so is more than adequate for most project studios, and the top ...
...of the track which you are listening to. To top this off i have been using these for around 8 months now, and every time i listen to my work i hear something new appear, they do not fatigue your ears at all and you can happily spend a 4 hour session with them at a fair volume. To conclude these speakers are great value for money, and are excellent for a small project studio, but do remember that all ears are different, so listen to them first! ... Read review

I love my Tannoy's
Review of Tannoy Reveal by chongster

Advantages: Very clear, very crisp
Disadvantages: slight lack of bottom end! Tho I wouldnt frett.

...the cash heh.) The Tannoy Reveal Actives come in at around £359. Believe me I've been to every single site to find the cheapest price and they all more or less (+-10%) fizzle off at that price. I was told about these monitors a while ago and that if I wanted to use them for dance music that I should think twice! Whoever that was, they got it wrong. These babys boom loud let me tell you. I was amazed by the clarity of the sound. They handled the ...
...get anything close to the Tannoy Reveals. If your budget doesn't stretch to £359 then why not take a look at Reveal's brother, the Reveal. Yes it's the same name minus the letter 'S' . These are the passive counterparts to the active model (you need a seperate power amp.) These retail considerably cheaper at around £150. So if you have a good power amp, then go get the Reveal now. What are you waiting for? Which ever model you buy, the active or ... Read review

BASS how low can you go
Review of Spirit Absolute Twos by crustypaul

Advantages: Accurate, clean, good build quality, Very loud, pumping sound
Disadvantages: very heavy

...lust over my pair of Spirit Absolute two's the other day i thought i would let everyone know just how sexy they are, (and yes, i am really that sad ). Spirit Absolute two's are designed as nearfield monitors for use in studios for the final mixdown and mastering of a piece of music. This means that they are designed with different aims in mind than your average set of hifi speakers. Accuracy and clarity are the order of the day here with as flat ...
...make any sense? The Spirit Absolute 2's have a +/- 3dB frequency response from 20kHz ( the highest freqency the human ear can hear ) all the way down to 45Hz. As a result they give a quite unbelievably accurate and uncoloured sound for such a small pair of speakers. This does take a bit of getting used to but once you know the sound you will be amazed at all the things that you can suddenly hear for the first time. The speakers have bi-wireable ... Read review
