Paul Mitchell, hair hero
Review of Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Sculpting Gel by s_bardell

Advantages: Gives great body and hold
Disadvantages: Can be hard to find a salon selling it

...greasy. The perfect solution; Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Sculpting Gel. 'For all hair types. Maximises body and provides incredible shine. This easy to use gel is formulated with body building thickening agents. Contains the Activated Moisturising Blend of Hawaiian awapuhi.' You apply a pea sized amount to towel dried or dry hair and either style, sculpt or set hair as usual. It has a lovely gentle almost spicy floral aroma. I have shortish hair ...
...all day, aided by the Paul Mitchell Dry Wax finishing product. One of the nicer aspects of the gel is that you aren't left with horrible sticky hands after styling your hair. A tube of 200ml costs around £6.95 and can only be bought at salons selling Paul Mitchell or special hair product range shops (try Norwich or Cambridge malls). I haven't tried to find it online, but like everything else nowadays is probably availble out there somewhere! Like ... Read review

Wax isn't just for candles!
Review of FCUK Hair wax stick by B_O_M_B_A

Advantages: Quick and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Smell could be better...

...boots and came across the FCUK wax STICK. Neither of us had ever seen a wax stick before, so interested we purchased it. They cost around £4.00 each, quite reasonable. When we got home we weren't entirely sure how we were supposed to apply it, luckily however the FCUK team had provided us with instructions. You should apply the wax in circular motions to the hair without too much force; this ensures equal coverage and forces the hair to establish ...
...the same hold as the FCUK which is ideal for both short and long hair. Overall a great piece of kit ideal for any type of hair, its even works on long hair but is better used with your fingers otherwise it may clump. Like most hair products if you leave it in for a day or 2 your hair does become greasy so I advise washing every 1-2 days or eve before you go to bed to keep your pillow clean. P.S Boots often have it on sale for 3 for 2 so you can ... Read review

Define this!
Review of Shockwaves Gel Wax Define and Shine by SheilaBee1

Advantages: Works really well and helps with shine.
Disadvantages: You need to wash your hands after using it.

I don't like my hair to look undefined and solid so my stylist advised I use a tiny bit of wax to create texture and definition. To me wax was just a guy thing for that slick look, I didn't think I could use it and make my hair look any good! I was advised to rub a pea-sized blob (no more than that) between my fingers then comb them through my hair. This is now what I do every time I do my hair. This makes my hair look effortlessly done but spot ...
...and have no intentions of changing to another type as I have found it so good. This wax is purple with iridescent powder (I assume) mixed through it, this doesn't look glittery on your hair, you can't even see it but helps with shine. It smells nice too, just fresh. As it is wax I do find I need to wash my hands well after I have used it, not a big deal as with any hair product you do really don't you. It doesn't make my hair feel in any way greasy ... Nothing better for medium length hair
Review of Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair Texturising Gum by mynameisrui

Advantages: Gives you a natural look, easy to wash out, long lasting
Disadvantages: None

...was an avid fan of Garnier Fructis Hard Gel but then I grew my hair a little bit longer and found that the hard gel no longer did what I wanted it too and moved to the surf hair which I find to be brilliant. The gel itself comes in a green tub that I believe contains 150ml and normally costs close to £3. It has a yellow lid which I believe is what Garnier use to distinguish between the different gels. The actual gel is more like a putty than a regular ...
...is easier to run through your hair compared to other putty's. As with any other gel, I'd recommend putting it on when your hair is damp and not dry as it will makes it easier to put and stops your hair tangling. The look that the gel gives off seems to be more natural than anything else. It does not give me a wet look or make my hair rock hard, or let me change my style a few hours later but it does hold my hair in place without me looking like I'm ... Read review

rocks my world
Review of Fudge Hair Shaper 100g by mspinkpanther

Advantages: smells fabby
Disadvantages: a little expensive

...the wind hits it. but fudge hair shaper holds it perfectly in place whether i choose to have it curly or straight. plus, it smells AMAZING. the product also stays in until its washed out, which it does easily, but once applied, you can reshape and restyle your hair even after brushing. and you get no white felecks or crumbling of the product, in fact the only giveaway of its presence is the smell! the only percieved disadvantages could be its gloopy ...
