SUSE bundle everything you could possibly need, and loads of stuff you don't. Quite often you find some funky stickers and maybe a case badge, keyring or pin badge depending on the edition. But to the important stuff!
SUSE produce a serious manual with their products. Few newbies know that everything you could possibly need to know is installed and can be accessed with the MAN command, but this information is usually technical and less user friendly. The manuals make everything less technical, more straight forward and take you step by step for all different kinds of setup.
Not only do you get a manual for install, you also get one for Reference, configuration and networking. The beauty is that if you have multiple computers you can convert one to linux and still share all your files etc with minimal effort.
The setup itself is as easy as any Microsoft product. It's usually better if you can install with YAST2 (Yet Another SeTup program 2) as you get pictures of penguins and all the hardware under the moon listed. With linux you setup your hardware then and there - not after the install unless you really want to. This usually means you can login and get on playing music and working (playing games...) straight after setup. And Linux does run games. Make sure you've got a graphics card like a geForce or similar though. Cheap or less known brands can have difficulty being detected.
So how does the software come? Well, if you're a professional supporter, you get seven CD's and one DVD (compare that to an upgrade to Windows ME (£79) or a full copy (£179)) and you're getting a bargin. Especially since you get 60 days support. But always Read The Manual (rtm) first!
The beauty of Linux is you can break away from high subscription fees (lots of office programs that act and look exactly like word or excel are FREE and are compatable with existing work you've done), viruses (very few viruses can actually infect your machine unless you do lots of stupid things that Linux will usually stop you doing) and inefficent use of resources. A well configured machine can run much faster using a Linux system.
Afraid of Linux? Take it one step at a time. You can actually emulate windows from within Linux using programs such as Wine or VMWare so you can still play your games (xwine) or type in MSoffice. Stick linux in a seperate partion (it walks you through this) and you may find you use SUSE more and more...

Suse have been constaintly introducing great Linux distros and this version is no exception.
From the moment you insert your installation disk in your PC you know it is going to be a very easy install. Suse use an installer called "Yast" to guide you through the instalation process.
In the past Linux was only suitable for computer experts, Today anyone with a little computer experience can easily install and use Linux by Suse. It used to be the ... ...from the instalation CD's. With Suse there are a range or pre-set installations that you can choose from. It means you do not have to know what is being installed, you simply let it know what sort of system you require and it installs the packages required. For example if the computer is going to be for home and family use you will want a set up almost like windows, with word porocessors, games, multimedia capability. Whereas if you are using your ...
