Advantages: Performance, handling, image and torque. Disadvantages: lack of interior comforts, styling (love or hate)
If speed is your thing then their are few choices that make sense on Britains roads. Sure there are alot of machines out there that absolutley fly when its sunny and dry but you could probably count on one hand the cars that can cope with average climate of pouring rain with brief periods of freezing ice and snow.
With permanent AWD and handling that could out turn a bobsled, the impreza is up at the top of that list. All the electronics that propel the car round corners (and hurt your face doing so) at speed all work to keep you out of those hedges and ditches.
On the motorway in 5th doing 70, plant your foot, wait a few seconds till you reach the boost and bang, your gone. Leaving most things 100 yards behind you with their ears ringing from the flat four boxer engine. Drop a gear and you'll cure that bad back with a lovely ...
Advantages: stupidly quick, boosting (that sound), handling amazing, looks great, Disadvantages: on this model lack of ABS and Air con this is not standard though!
This was a 1996 Japanese import that spent its life as a Japanese street racing car. It was the race altered edition of the WRX STI. This meant it had no sunroof, no electrics in the front ie. windows and wing mirrors, no ABS and no air con. It did have a double din stereo and it did have a 5.5" straight through stainless steel exhaust. It was stupidly modified in the engine department and it did have creedy boost gauges.
This car was brought from a garage in Stoke. It was a Japanese import. It is a very rare car I have only ever seen 1 other like it. However, due to more imports coming into the country and the price for these beats being between 9-11k I thought I would write this review.
This car kicked out 345bhp and went from 0-60mph in between 3.5 and 4 seconds. Don't believe me I have the evidence in the form of many scared ...
Extroverts only i think....but the boy in side need apply also...
Well so much but so little.
The car is an ImprezaWRX 03.
Had it second hand with 15k on the clock, paid 16k.
Intitially the turbo lag can be a problem if your not used to it,if your a driver its not a problem.
The buzz alone in the normal car is incredible but i will concentrate on mine which has the additional Prodrive performance pack added.
Benifits of this is that its Subaru approved and warranty is not affected.
Downside is it costs £1600!!!!
Arggghhh i know but do it.
The BHP is increased to 265ps (from 225)and torque goes up to a massive 348nm...ok figures but that means a 0-60mph of 4.8 seconds(official prodrive figures)Bye bye Porsche boxter turbos!
Also this takes it past the impressive STI but without all the garish gold wheels and huge spoiler ...
