Advantages Advantages Fast, reliable, so much grip

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Plastic interior

It has to be said that the Impreza Turbo, as a rally car, has rewritten the record books in the past decade, but I'm here to talk about the road car. Just like the rally car, the road car has had its fair share of success. 1999 saw the Impreza take the JC Power/BBC Top Gear Manufacturers' Gold Award for the second year running. Now this has to say something about the car and the potential that comes with it. As well as this it has won Japanese car of the year many times over. The Impreza Turbo shares the same flat four 'boxer' engine and the perfectly linear All-Wheel Drive system with the ... more

Advantages Advantages Sticks to the road. Embarrasses Porche and 3-Series owners.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Drinks petrol at a ferocious rate (anywhere from 12-25 mpg)

I got the Impreza WRX STi Version 5 after having a spin in my friend's wagon, which was an Impreza WRX. I remember him informing me that WRX meant "World Rally Cross" and a half hour later I could see why. This car loves to be driven hard - at 2000rpm the boost starts to kick in and, unless you're a total boring sad act, you'll have an emotional - almost religious experience. This is a car that just brings me to tears of joy. The steering is perfect, two and a half turns lock to lock, not a trace of understeer and yet it still isn't nervous at the back. It looks fantastic too. They're both ... more

Advantages Advantages Very, very, very, very quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Basic interior

Let's put this into context. This car was voted best car of the year in the JD Power survey last year, and second the previous year, after Subaru's Legacy. This shows that people think that it is good. Having driven one, good isn't the word that i'd use to describe it - STUPENDOUS is. Looking at the car, it looks quite nice, especially with the 17" alloys, the rear spoiler is wicked and that vent on the bonnet looks stunning! Starting to drive from a set of traffic lights, starting slowly into second gear and then flooring the throttle. The acceleration until 2800 rpm. was reached was good ... more

Advantages Advantages Awesome speed, great car for the money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Incredible fule consumption

The only thing worse than never having driven the Scoob is to have driven one and have it taken away. I spent 7 glorious months at the wheel of this monster and I loved every second. Yes, it cost a bomb to feed but when you floor it, you fight to stop yourself laughing at the sheer power and the sound of the jet taking off. People who know cars trun and stare. People who don't laugh and point at the spoiler on the boot. Once you get in, you know you are at the heart of something special. You don't plonk yourself in, you ease yourself in gently making tiny adjustments so you are ready for what ... more

Well when i was younger, a passenger, the sound of one of these motors would have my head spinning trying to view the beast which was giving off such a raw, ear trembling exhaust note. then the relatively normal, but sporty looking car would fly past. At this point i was a little dissapointed as being a young boy i expected it to be space craft or something of that wild nature to be creating that noise. As i grew well into my teens i respected the engineering which went into these cars, the preformance which they are capable of is out of this world! i had to get one!! Now i sit here writing ... more
