Advantages Advantages Not a bad little car

Disadvantages Disadvantages Overpriced, understylish - no longer a match for the competition

This is fundamentally a reasonable car. There is nothing particularly bad about it. It’s just that when it is placed alongside its rivals, such as the Saxo, 106 etc. it really looks a little out of touch. Of course this is not a proper Subaru. It is simply a Suzuki Swift with a different badge. Whilst putting on the badge, true they changed the odd one or two little details. It is now 4-wheel drive not 2, and is little more refined inside. And they added a couple of thousand pounds onto the price. I’m afraid this car does not really belong alongside the Imprezza, Legacy and Forester. It really ... more

    Advantages Advantages Nice little 4wd

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive parts

The Justy is a great car if you are in need of a small 4 wheel drive vehicle, as it is practically the only the only such model available. It is no longer produced unfortunately, but there are still a few of these about. In general you can pick them up pretty cheap because garages have trouble selling them (4wd is fairly niche). The reliability is fairly high on the Justy, and it provides a suprising amount of power for the size of the engine (1.2) Fuel consumption is not wonderful for the size of the vehicle, probably because of cost cutting by Subaru. I get 35 - 40 mpg from this vehicle ... more

Advantages Advantages 4wd, cheap to run, cheap to buy,

Disadvantages Disadvantages It says Subaru, but it's a Swift!

I owned this car for nearly a year and it was absolutely brilliant! I had no problems with it during my ownership at all. The permanent 4-wheel-drive is a god send (seeing as though the snow can get bad in my area) and can handle all weathers. It can also be taken off road as long as you beware of the ground clearance. Although the 1.3 engine is not exactly fast, it had more power than the 1.3 Fiesta I had previously owned. The drive was nice and comfortable and handled really nice. The engine noise could get quite loud at high revs, but was quiet during normal driving. The boot appears small ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap tax, insurance, gets you from A to B

    Disadvantages Disadvantages looks dated

Oooh cringe at the title of my review, I could'nt think of anything else, sorry! The Subaru Justy was the first car I ever bought. It was silver, E reg and cost me £300. I needed a little car to get me around while I was at Uni, and a car to get me back home at weekends. Now, prior to this car, I was driving my dads Honda CRX, and boy! did I notice the difference once I got into this. The Justy has a 1.2 petrol engine, but it is only 3 cylinder. I affectionately compared it to a lawnmower engine! It was very economical, doing about 45/50 mpg. One very good feature of this car was the ... more

My first car - fabulous little thing. Great fuel consumption in town and on the motorway at about 40miles to the gallon! 4wheel drive works a treat - although can become costly when reparing any features as although it looks like the old Swift you need Subaru parts! Exhausts are especially expensive! Really comfortable, while being not too big it's big enough to comfortably get 2 in the front and 2 in the back. Basci features inside but what do you expect from a little supermini like this! Handling is great - the power assisted steering works wonders, the car holds the road well and it's fun ... more
