Good if you need a small 4wd 7 of 7 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Nice little 4wd

Disadvantages expensive parts

The Justy is a great car if you are in need of a small 4 wheel drive vehicle, as it is practically the only the only such model available. It is no longer produced unfortunately, but there are still a few of these about. In general you can pick them up pretty cheap because garages have trouble selling them (4wd is fairly niche).

The reliability is fairly high on the Justy, and it provides a suprising amount of power for the size of the engine (1.2)

Fuel consumption is not wonderful for the size of the vehicle, probably because of cost cutting by Subaru. I get 35 - 40 mpg from this vehicle.

Performance on snow and ice is very good, and I have used it to go off-road (although not seriously) in very wet and muddy conditions. If you wanted to really use it off-road the tires would need replacing with something wider.

Parts are very expensive unfortunately. Usually you will have to get them in from Japan, which is a pain, takes a long time, and is pricey (£800 for a new radiator)

Some of the Justy models are genuine complete Subaru, while the later AWD model is a suzuki with a different engine.

Paintwork looks good on mine, and I haven't noticed any rust appearing. Body shape is ok, does not live up to its big brother (impreza) but it still looks ok for an oldish cheap car.

The interior is generally quite good, trim fairly hardy.
It doesn't look big inside, but there is enough room to get two large lads in the back. I wouldn't recommend anyone big sitting in the middle seat in the back though.

Performance was still ok under heavy load (5 people + bags).

Boot space is rather low, but it is enough.

Radio is a standard radio fitting, although the cables inside were very short (made it difficult to change / remove radio)

The Justy comes as standard with an electronic immobiliser, discouraging theft. I got 2 spare immobiliser 'keys' with mine.

My Justy has electric mirrors, but not electric windows.

This vehicle is fairly safe, fitted with a drivers airbag.
I crashed mine going at 40 and I recieved no injury, although that doesn't really tell you much.

Overall I think this is a very good car, especially as a first car for someone living in the countryside.
