This is fundamentally a reasonable car. There is nothing particularly bad about it. It’s just that when it is placed alongside its rivals, such as the Saxo, 106 etc. it really looks a little out of touch.
Of course this is not a proper Subaru. It is simply a Suzuki Swift with a different badge. Whilst putting on the badge, true they changed the odd one or two little details. It is now 4-wheel drive not 2, and is little more refined inside. And they added a couple of thousand pounds onto the price.
I’m afraid this car does not really belong alongside the Imprezza, Legacy and Forester. It really is not of the same class as other Subaru’s. It really is doing the brand no favours, and the sooner it is removed from the line up the better. If you do like the shape, buy a Suzuki Swift and save yourself a couple of grand.
