The automatic transmission is smooth, allied to a powerful engine that makes most driving effortless and relaxing. Handling is great, with the all-wheel-drive providing re-assuring grip in corners, with minimal roll due to the low centre of gravity and excellent suspension. Fuel consumption, at ca. 33mpg combined, is acceptable and compares well with similar engine-size saloons from German marques. This is by far and away the best car I have owned. I'll be checking out Subaru's diesel models when they arrive later in '08.
