I wrote a review for the same book with the CDs first. I originally bought the book without the CDs and for me it was great that's why I went and purchased the one with CDs as I thought the learning experience would be better. I was wrong. The CDs are in Spanish with no English. They are good for pronunciation but that's about it - definitely not for the car! Every Spanish word in the book, and I mean every Spanish word is on the CD. I think that this can be a bit tedious and it is difficult to skip through the tracks as there is no reference to the CD in the book. There is a separate track listing on a 4 page booklet that accompanies the course which means that you have to keep referring to this whilst trying to follow the book. The commentators also go through the Spanish quite quickly therefore not leaving you much time to think ...

We first approached St Louis at twilight and were immediately charmed by the unusual skylight dominated by The Gateway Arch which was bathed in a warm amber glow. We had driven down from Chicago along Route 66 and were pretty tired so we has little time or energy to explore ? St Louis would have to wait until daylight.

First faux-pas of our trip! My pronunciation of St Louis was as in the title of the Judy Garland film and song. Wrong! A local born and bred in St Louis soon corrected me. The English pronunciation is lu-is. Lu-ee is the French pronunciation little used within the city.
St Louis is named after King Louis IX of France ? the only French king that was made into a saint. The city was founded by French explorers, Louis Joliet and Jacques Marquette in 1673.
