Advantages Advantages Cheap eco night light

Disadvantages Disadvantages May not work in bad weather

When we lived in our previous flat, it was in the centre of town so during night it wasn’t dark in the room because of streets lights. Now when we moved into a house, there is no street lightening around. So at night it’s so dark inside – I don’t feel very well if wake at night. Especially when I need to give my daughter a dummy or just cuddle her if she wakes up…. I was thinking to buy a night light but couldn’t decide what I want. I needed a light to be on all night that I didn’t have to turn it on, it shouldn’t be bright, small electric usage…. And one day browsing online I found those ... more

Advantages Advantages Free lighting and a lovely glow.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Recharging difficult in cloudy weather and indoors not as successful as outdoors.

Recently when my husband turned 50 he received a present from my daughter called a Sun Jar. My youngest daughter is a great eco warrior and always chooses gifts with a saving the planet theme in mind. These can be purchased from Amazon at around the £15 mark, and I think they make a great present. My brother is going abroad travelling for a year with his girlfriend, so they've been giving a lot of their stuff to friends and family for storage while they are away . One of the items I ended up with was this nifty Suck Uk Sun Jar lamp. It's a pretty nifty little device - it uses solar power, charging up during the day, and then turning on at night to emit a soft, relaxing glow . It's lovely looking, an old fashioned frosted glass jar, with the solar panel conealed beneath the lid. To charge during the day, you open the lid to allow the panel to get maximum sunlight (it will charge a little ... more

Intro My son likes to get hubby and me a few small gifts for Christmas as opposed to one large one. He also likes to get things which are a little unusual and that can certainly be said of the present he got me last year. When I received this present they were relatively new so not many people had one, I’m pretty sure that situation has changed as my review might explain in a bit more detail. Sun Jar Having received this as a present I Googled it to find out the cost and it is currently selling for around £15, which I suppose is pretty good value. Some of you may remember the good old days ... more
