Full review

I bought this for one of my children when they had a really heavy cold and were struggling to unblock their nose. After consulting with the Boots pharmacist she recommended the Sudafed elixir because it is non-drowsy but still effective. The Active ingredient is Pseudoephedrine, which is why you have to buy it over the counter, this stuff works unlike phenylephrine which is what you find in lemsip sachets and has little or no effect on a lot of people.
The taste isnt too awful either which is a major bonus and I found that after dosing her with this she didnt need any painkillers - not because it contains one (it doesnt) but because it cleared the pressure in her sinuses really well and the headache she had been having went too.
Overall I am very impressed with this product, although it isnt for everyone. People with severe asthma may have problems as it constricts blood vessels and as their oxygen levels may not be optimum anyway you dont want to compromise bloodflow too. Likewise people with high blood pressure, even those on medication to control it must NOT take this as it will constrict their blood vessels too and make their blood pressure spike high. Otherwise most people 2 years and older can take this.
