Do you like thrillers? Do you like cats? If your answer is ?yes? and ?yes?, then the cat thrillers written by the human RitaMaeBrown and her feline co-author, tiger cat Sneaky Pie Brown, may be something for you. The series started in 1990, over the years I?ve read two or three books but can?t remember which as the titles aren?t very distinctive and I mix them up easily. Recently when browsing on Amazon I came across a cover with a cat on it, I felt nostalgic and wanted to find out if the series was still going strong, so I ordered the paperback No 15.

A report comes to Sheriff Todd Shaw of Suddenly, California, that makes him stand up and take notice - the President of the United States of America will be getting off the train at Suddenly at 5pm that same day. The security services know that there is a plot to try to assassinate him and so pull out all stops to ensure that this does not happen. Their main concern is 'the house on the hill', which has a direct view of the train station. This house is owned by Pop Benson, who lives with his daughter-in-law Ellen and grandson Pidge. Ellen also happens to be Todd's love interest, although having lost her husband in the war, she is in no hurry to get involved with anyone else.

Advantages: A heartwarming tale Disadvantages: There really isn't any
I first saw Educating Rita about 3 years ago when it came as a free disc within the Daily Mirror. As it was a free disc I didn't hold out much hope for it but when I placed it into the DVD player my mum exclaimed that she'd seen it before and that it wasn't half bad. She wasn't wrong; I really enjoyed watching it and have since watched it numerous more times.
Educating Rita was released in 1983 and stars Michael Caine and Julie Walters. At nearly 25 years old therefore you might be led to believe that it will be a bit drab and not at all appropriate to life today. You would be wrong however to believe this as in my opinion Educating Rita is as appropriate today as it was when it was first released. The story it tells is extremely true to life and is not only told in a touching way but also in a way that pulls the audience along ...
