My first aid box is always being pulled out on a daily basis having five children I can almost guarantee that one of them will hurt themselves daily be it a little plaster or something more drastic. In my first aid box I tend to keep a little of everything and Sudocrem is no exception in fact it really is all singing and all dancing pot of miracles. I first started using it on the babies bums all five of them had it and it really does do a fantastic job of clearing up nappy rash but it's healing properties don't stop there. Sudocrem contains the following active Ingredients and is a healing anti septic cream:

This is the most common complaint that I have known Sudocrem to be used for and the main purpose I have it in the first aid box, I have tried many different products over the years for nappy rash and have not yet found a product as good as this for treating it. I always apply a small amount each bum change especially with my youngest at the moment who suffers very badly with nappy rash almost to the point of bleeding. Be warned it can get very messy when applying the cream especially with baby Harley as he likes to grab the pot of Sudocrem or touch his bum and get the cream on his fingers once there you find its everywhere lol. Sudocrem acts as a great barrier cream preventing re occurrence of nappy rash.

My daughter suffers from sporadic Eczema and although it may only flare up two or three times a year Sudocrem really seems to ease her pain and discomfort as a preventative measure as soon as she starts to develop a patch of Eczema I plaster it on seems to prevent escalation if treated in time. Many doctors actually prescribe Sudocrem for Eczema suffers so check with your doctor first as they can prescribe big pot's which are really expensive in the shops be careful the doctor gives you the really large tub as the smaller tubs are less to buy than the prescription cost.

Sudocrem is also great for sunburn in more severe cases as it had great moisturizing and anti septic qualities my wife got really burnt on holiday last year and we tried all the different soothing lotions but none worked so as a last resort I tried her with Sudocrem and it cooling and anti septic properties really eased the pain and healed the burns up very quickly.

My wife is a care worker and regularly takes a pot around with her for the elderly and disabled clients she visits who often suffer from bed sores. With it's great soothing and anti septic qualities it really does help and she swears by it for treatment of bed sores. Sudocrem she also informs me is great for using when the elderly have to use pads like giant nappies for preventing sores very similar to nappy rash.

Sudocrem as I have said has great anti septic qualities so is great more minor cuts, minor burns and grazes just clean the wound and apply it will prevent all those nasty germs getting in as it will form a barrier between the wound and open air whilst it's anti septic qualities get to work healing the wound. Only use when the wound is minor if more serious always seek medical advice.

We all get those occasional spots and a small amount applied daily will help to clear them up quickly however I have read that using as a spot prevention cream is no good as it can cause serious pigmentation of the skin through years of use. So when using for spots only on a need to use basis.

You can buy a 400g tub for £6.49 online but there are also bigger and smaller pots available and you can purchase at all pharmacies and large supermarkets over the counter. You can't miss it the pot is grey with a red label and can normally be found in either the baby departments or where all the anti septic creams are kept.

I can't recommend Sudocrem highly enough it serves so many functions and treats just about any complaint even spots, a great product even if a little expensive it is always worth keeping a pot in your cupboard for emergencies and those little bumps and knocks that kid's always pick up.
