My first ever experience of Sudocrem was when I was pregnant for the first time, I received the free Bounty pack of samples, you know little bottles of johnsons shampoo (love johnsons definately the ultimate baby smell ahhhh), minute little nappies ( later on ended up on daughters dolls and teddies!) etc. In this pack came a little tub of Sudocrem, to be honest I didn't really much bother with it just shoved it in the cupboard with the rest of the baby stuff I had bought ready for my bundle of joy.
It came out of the cupboard when at the age of 3mths and the first sting of teething hit my child, his
nappy rash was horrendous. I actually took a photo of him around that time when it was bathtime and you can clealry see a red nappy shape area on him.
It states in the instructions 'to apply thin layer of cream on affected area'! yeah right I plastered the stuff on, and to my then amazement it worked a dream. His nappy rash cleared up within a day or two.
I have used it on all the children, although I have to say on my girls, the nappy rash when teething was so extreme I had to visit doctor who gave me Metanium which is another wonder cream.
My 2 youngest girls often have scrapes on their knees and scream vigorously at me ' I want supercream!!!', which as you've probably guessed it is sudocrem.
I have also used it on minor burns, cuts ( it is an antiseptic cream) and a relief agent for stubble rash! Ladies (or men!!) are you like me in that you have sensitive skin, my husband gets stubble very quickly and it can get embarrassing up the school, picking up the kids when the headmistress asks you if you have had an allergic reaction to something as your face/neck is bright red and slightly raised!! Just apply a small amount and rub in (otherwise you end up looking like casper), it takes the heat out instantly and soothes gently.
Now Sudocrem, like any barrier cream is quite thick and greasy and I have always used it liberally on the children which means it does get used quickly so I usually buy the big tubs. Now in tescos I think it costs roughly around the £5 mark for an average tub and around £7 for the large one, which is quite expensive but well worth the money when you think of your little one suffering.
It comes in an easy to open grey tub, which believe me has it's own consequences. My 2 youngest girls are defiantely kin of damiens child! They were very quiet in the living room one day so I thought I would check to see if they had fallen asleep , Uh Oh, no I had one casper from head to toe and a very liberally coated sofa and carpet and curtains!!! Sudocrem is extremely difficult to get out of fabric and hair!!!!
It states on the tub that it can be used for minor burns, surface wounds, acne, chilblains and sunburn. Now luckily I have never had acne so I can't say if it works for that but the sunburn it does. My youngest damiens child girl is a strawberry blonde with the skin too match, one day when the weather not seemingly sunny caught me out she burned (she now wears long sleeved tops at all times or resembles a north sea swimmer with plenty of whale grease!), no, her burns were like nothing I had ever seen before it was like elephant skin and very sore for her so I thought I would calm her down by using the supercream, it did work but a small warning it can dry out skin so I moisturised her well afterwards.
All in all it is a very good cream and one a mum should definately have in her cupboard. I am now going to state the little writing on the back which seeing as it's 5.51am and I have only just woken up will be a challenge.
It does not come out of carpets either. Great review there. x

Advantages: Good value for money, protects the skin, pleasant smell Disadvantages: Leaves residue on fingers after applying, does not absorb fully into skin
