The UK site layout is very simple and easy to read, even the less PC savvy should be able to navigate with total ease and confidence. It is also simple in color, using two shades of golden and two of blue, to pick out the selected text areas for the linking's, and a white background for it's body section.
It does not hurt the eyes and there is no blaring music or headache causing flashing lights and so on to turn readers away. It would appeal more to the slightly more grown up population, looking for a place to take their date, or go for anniversaries etc, rather than youthful seeking a swinging night out on the town. So will suit most adults over twenty five!
Having said that, although the young ones would probably like it more colorful and jazzed up, they will enjoy the ability to find places for romantic evenings out sometimes as well, I am sure. Especially when it comes to special celebrations or proposing marriage, so go take a look and use the experiences of others to find the absolute best place to make your special evening just perfect. You may even get a freebie meal as well.
VERY easy to navigate, even for the newbies. Everything is quick and easy to find with the simple easy linking system used. The search facility is for seeking out specifically named eating houses, so if you don't know one, it is no real use, although it is easy to find their recommendations in your own area anyway, and these cover all types of eating from American to Vegetarian.
There is no security and privacy statement I could see, but it is not really relevant, because when you go to look at a recommended book for example, it opens a new page directly to Amazon, which has a great privacy and security statement.
The content is very detailed and thorough, and the links are relevant. Overall, it is a very informative and useful site and one to bookmark.
What a whopper of a site!! the nutshell of it is best taken directly from there..
News on Eating Out, Articles on Local Dining, Comprehensive Directory of Restaurants, Read & Write Reviews, Wine Buys, Restaurant Recipes, Bargain Meals, Catering Trade Area and Much More..
Now I will tell you more...
There are just too many links to check every page, but the basis is, you go to the home page, where you get a popup box asking you a question, send in your answer and email addy, and if you win, you get a free meal, so it is worth visiting to try and win the meal out.
On the homepage, you select your City and click it, and then click the Town of your choice, to be taken to all the relevant restaurants and eateries there.
Once there, you can narrow your search by choosing a place to eat which has been rated by the AA, Hamblins, Michelin or the Good Eating Guide. Alternatively, you can select to find a particular area within the County or even choose the type of restaurant you want, eg, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian etc. All of which makes for a simple to find suitable evening out.
There is a top ten list, and you can even book a table online while you are at it. People who have eaten at the various places give their personal review of the experience, meaning you can know before you go the service will be great or a nightmare. No more pot luck guesswork.
Another great thing on this site, is the ability to choose a day of the week, and get results for the special deals on your selected day. For example, On Wednesday, in Bath, Bristol and Somerset, there are no less than 16 special deals to choose from and save you money. Very useful to know, but the information does not stop here.
There are articles with pictures, on various places in great detail, describing the settings from the floorboards or carpeting, up to the lighting, its situation, and even provides information on the head Chef and his specialities. You get an example meal description, and pricing for it, and as you read, your mouth will water ate the wonderful descriptions for them all. So good you can almost taste it!!
There is a great section on wines you can afford, detailing their taste and quality etc. You can even visit the recipe section for the actual recipes of Chefs signature dishes. So if you cant afford to eat out, get the recipes and the wine choice and stay in instead. Its one way round the pennies problem at tight times.
The links page is worth checking out too. Most people do not bother with this, but there's some great finds, so make a point to go and see. Oh, and to finish the evening off in style, you can even pre book a hotel on the site as well.
Having whetted your appetite, I'm sure you will find it satisfied at the site. But please don't forget to leave me some feedback on my review. Its your feedback that will enable me to improve for future ones. Thanks.
