Advantages: Fast, cheap, works Disadvantages: Small enough to lose
...The backup module is to my mind the one absolute must-have accessory for the Visors. It is an 8Mb flash module that slots in the Springboard slot, and makes a copy of the contents of the memory of the Visor - all the appointments, settings, phone numbers, programs - everything. And it does it within a couple of minutes.
Once inserted, the Visor runs the backup software on the module, giving you the option to back up the Visor or restore from the backup module. Select the option, and off it goes. When it is done, pull the module out and the Visor goes back to whatever it was doing beforehand.
This was my first introduction to Springboard modules, and I was extremely impressed at the way it just... worked. No fuss, no need to install anything additional, just slot it in and go.
I have had to use the module in anger a couple...

Advantages: good and cheap processor for using simple apps Disadvantages: too slow in dificult graphics operations
...The AMD-K6-III processor with 3DNow! technology incorporates AMD's TriLevel Cache design to enable leading-edge performance for today's consumer PC enthusiasts and business power users. The innovative TriLevel Cache design maximizes the overall system performance of AMD-K6-III processor-based desktop PCs by delivering one of the industry's largest maximum combined system caches. This larger total cache results in higher system performance. The TriLevel Cache design includes a full-speed 64KB Level 1 (L1) cache (a standard feature of the AMD-K6 processor family), an internal full-speed backside 256KB Level 2 (L2) cache, and a 100-MHz frontside bus to an optional external Level 3 (L3) cache on the Super7™ motherboard. With a total of 320KB of combined L1 and L2 cache, the AMD-K6-III processor has more internal cachememory than any...

Advantages: Cheap entry level Sun SPARC from 1997 Disadvantages: Build quality is PC like, and low cache processors
...The Sun UltraSPARC 5 workstation was brought out in 1997, and was priced so you could have one on your desk for approx 1000 US Dollars. They stopped shipping to customers in May 2002. These days, it is not a fast machine, but still they are perfectly useable for many workstation and server tasks.
Processor and Memory -
This model has an UltraSPARC IIi processor which is, of course, 64 bit and is clocked at 360 MHz. You can have 1GB of memory in the workstation, installed as up to 4 DIMMS, which must be installed in pairs. "Normal" PC memory will not work in these workstations. The 260MHz model only has 256kB cache (same with the 270MHz processor) For better performance, you need the 2MB cache version on the 333 or 400MHz versions.
Storage -
There is one HDD bay in the machine, although if you remove the floppy drive, you can put...
