Advantages: fast, reliable and very easy to use. Disadvantages: it can't make a decent cup of coffee
......well i certainly would. After aquiring a x2100 about three years ago and not knowing too much about computers, i didn't realise what a gem i had got. I soon realised though and have never even considered buying another computer.
The sheer speed that this computer works at is absolutely phenominal. With it's 512k rambus memory it can handle almost anything. Admitted i have added another 1536k of rambus memory, which by know means was cheap but i can now design my own graphics without running out of memory.
This computer is not really for gameplay but it can handle most types of game eg. shoot em up, role play games and driving games. If you know what you are doing with a computer designing games is what it's really meant for....

Advantages: Cheap, Super stable, good for office work/students/multimedia Disadvantages: Poor 3d performance, DVD playback is average.
...I bought this cpu to upgrade my socket seven board. I bought the board with upgrading to this cpu in mind once it's price fell as newer cpu's came out. I got the cpu for 50 pounds from Jungle.com and it has been the best 50 pounds I have ever spent on my computer.
I use the cpu for a variety of tasks, running Win98 is it's main job (I've also used Win95 and 2000 - both were fine), and also MS Office 2000, the internet, watching DVD movies , playing games and graphics work with Autocad and Photoshop. It copes with all of these applications with no real problems, especially the office tasks and internet aswell as the graphics work. It is however let down slightly by performance in 3d games (due to poor floating point performance) such as Quake - but don't let this put you off, it is still perfectly playable and it runs Tiberian Sun...

What did I put into my PC?
Hard drive:
Western Digital Caviar 80 gig. This is a basic hard drive that spins at 7200 rpm. Fairly small compared to some of the massive drives in existence but it came out of my original Shuttle PC so it was not brand new.
Memory:
I got some memory from ebuyer.co.uk
I have always used Crucial RAM because it has yet to fail...

One Night Only are an amazing (in my opinion) indie-rock-pop band just breaking the surface of the music scene, despite having been around for quite a while thanks to the wonders of Myspace, Bebo and their own webpage. The band is made up of 5 talents... more
