The Sun Fire X4150 server, powered by Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors, is the best 1RU 2-socket x64 server. With Sun's unique design principles, the Sun Fire X4150 server beats all others in terms of performance, expandability, and energy efficiency for Solaris, Linux, Windows, and VMware applications. If you're looking for maximum compute density, leading storage capacity, and networking connectivity in a single rack unit, you simply can't do better than this.
Networking
Networking: Network adapter - integrated
Ethernet Ports: 4 x Gigabit Ethernet
Data Link Protocol: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet
Advantages: Cheap upgrade with great cache memory Disadvantages: not the fastest or best, most Core 2's are much better
...This is an okay machine that fails to ignite or excite you with its performance. I am still amazed that a quad-core can be only 1.86 GHz in memory. I mean so many good Core2 Duos pack over 2 Gigs its a wonder you get this minnow.
The E5320 has good bus speed of 1066 MHz and large cache memory of 8mb, performing well when doing work-related activities. However if you are after an entertainment machine to watch movies, play games or download stuff this is not the machine for you. But then this is an upgrade and is meant to replace older, slower machines with a new infrastructure. It doesn't work for me, since its a low-end 64-bit operator, but if you need a cheap upgrade to new technology then this will be a good choice for you....

Advantages: Fast clock speed / Good amount of lvl2 cache Disadvantages: Could balance out workload onto both cores a bit more
...This processor is a fairly mid-high spec for core2 duo range it delivers some great performance for a good price.
This cpu can handle a lot of multi-tasking along with playing powerful games. Usually i can run a defragmentation and notice it hardly at all i can play games and play music with no problem it just makes desktop computing so easy.
As you may know this is an Intel Core2 Duo E6750 / 2.66ghz cpu, It has 2cores on the one chip. it runs with 64-bit architecture which then opens up a whole new world of 64-bit operating systems for tommorows technolodgy...this along with the fact it has 4mb lvl2 cache makes superfast repsonse rates to programs and files i have also noticed that their are not so many "cache misses" to which i expected so this pleases me the most :D
The only downside is that i have noticed that core...

Advantages: There is no faster CPU - future proof Disadvantages: Price
...I was eagerly awaiting the release of the core2 architecture last year but decided to hold out to see if there would be any bargains around Christmas time. This was also the scheduled release time of the quadcore version.
As the time neared I began reading reviews and seeing what programs would utilise all 4 cores and found that the list was short. However, for an equivalent price I could have bought the X6800 chip which although has a higher core speed (2.93GHz vs 2.66GHz) only has 2cores. For future proofing I decided to get the quadcore.
Before installing this chip a bios update was needed in order for my motherboard to pick up the chip and would fail to boot without it. Windows however does not need to be reinstalled and picked up all 4 cores perfectly and went about balancing the load from my running programs around all...

This E6750 is the processor running in my computer as I write this review. In my opinion I couldn't have chosen a better CPU for what I was looking for. I was looking to spend around 200 USD for a processor and I wanted it to be very powerful so that I... more
General Overview:
The Q6600 Is a fantastic new chip by Intel. It provides the end user with an extremely powerful, cheap and multi-purpose chip. At one point this chip would cost you £500 alone. Now they have cut the price down to roughly £170 making... more
