...actually pretty impressive. Function The notebook works quite well with wireless internet and doesn't cut off often as I have found with wi-fi on some other laptops. It also has an impressive battery life, in a recent car journey, I found it lasted about 3 and 3/4 hours, easily enough time for all of the film I was watching as well as some of another. It is available in two versions, Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP Home., but the Linux has 512Mb of RAM and an 80Gb hard disk, the Windows one has 1Gb of RAM and a 120Gb drive. I personally own the windows version, since I know more about the operating system and prefer the high memory levels. Advantages: Only sleekness. Nothin other than this in my opinion
Disadvantages: Everything. Performance, reliability, speed, sound etc.

...My experience Bought this product to increase my storage space to 900GB( alongside with 750 GB HDD that i use ). But this product has very poor reliability, got serviced 7 times within a period of one year. All my datas lost. Read/Write speed is good but head movement sound drives me mad. Its not worth buying this product. A little shake to the CPU, this product is gone. Worst Experience And one more bitter experinece for me with this product. I once sent it for service as it did not work and after 4-5 days, went to service center and got my replacement HDD (Serviced one i suppose) and kept it in a well cushioned box ( A Jewel Box with good cushion effect). I plugged it in immediately after returning home and ALAS, the hard disk was dead, It gave some ASCII characters for HDD name in my BIOS (CMOS) utility... Read review

...times. So overall it performs well. Seagate are a trusted manufacturer and have been around for a while. As far as I'm aware they have never made a bad device line, but then my HDD's of preference are normally Western digital. The device uses an 8mb cache, this isn't a special as it used to be since many other 2.5"HDDs now use this amount but its still a plus point for the device. It runs a 7200RPM, this is about the same as many normal 3.5" HDDs but is quite fast for a laptop variant. As I said before it is important to look at your need for this type of device, there are many other devices available that do the same job but for a far lower price. You should only buy 2.5" HDD's if you really need one and if you can't use anything else. I bought this one new from Ebuyer for just over £100 inc VAT and delivery. Its now happily... Read review
