Manufacturer's product description
The 3rd generation 64-bit UltraSPARC III Cu processor is Sun's award-winning workstation and server processor, designed with advanced RAS features, 100% binary compatibility and unparalleled scalability, enabling Sun systems to deliver industry-leading real world application performance that makes the net work. This processor upgrade is designed for Sun Entry Level Servers, NEBS Compliant Entry Servers, and Workstations.
Expansion / connectivity
Compatible Slots: 1 x processor - 1368-pin LGA, 1 x processor
Advantages: Cheap entry level Sun SPARC from 1997 Disadvantages: Build quality is PC like, and low cache processors
...The SunUltraSPARC 5 workstation was brought out in 1997, and was priced so you could have one on your desk for approx 1000 US Dollars. They stopped shipping to customers in May 2002. These days, it is not a fast machine, but still they are perfectly useable for many workstation and server tasks.
Processor and Memory -
This model has an UltraSPARCIIiprocessor which is, of course, 64 bit and is clocked at 360 MHz. You can have 1GB of memory in the workstation, installed as up to 4 DIMMS, which must be installed in pairs. "Normal" PC memory will not work in these workstations. The 260MHz model only has 256kB cache (same with the 270MHz processor) For better performance, you need the 2MB cache version on the 333 or 400MHz versions.
Storage -
There is one HDD bay in the machine, although if you remove the floppy drive, you...

...for the Coppermine Pentium III's. At present time, RAMBUS is the only type of memory that the Pentium 4 supports. Fortunately, the price of RAMBUS is much more reasonable then it was at introduction. At the time this review is being written, 128MB of PC800 goes for about $150. The new 400MHz bus combined with PC800 RAMBUS allows a data throughput o up to 3.2GB/s as compared to 1.06GB/s for the 133MHz Front Side Bus Pentium IIIprocessors.
SSE/2
And last, but not least is SSE2. SSE2 instructions unlock the true power of the Pentium 4 processor. In benchmarks on un-optimized software, a 1.5GHz Pentium 4 is about 25% faster than a 1GHz Pentium III. In some tests, it is actually slower than an 1.2GHz Athlon. However, the key statement in this sentence is un-optimized code. When running optimized code, the Pentium 4 can almost double its speed in some...

Advantages: great speed, reliable Disadvantages: cost
...The Intel Pentium Processors, says they have power...have they?
1.AMD and Pentiums are the same, aren’t they? I mean, they all have the same numbers, right?
Not always, even though the numbers are the same, it depends on how efficiently the processor works. Personally, I believe Pentiums work best.
2.You are just saying that so that people don’t buy AMDs, right?
Not at all. For instance, the is an Intel Celeron range and a Pentium III range. The extra money that makes the Pentium III more expensive is spent on developing the efficiency of the processor so that you get the very best it has to offer. Celeron is a make that is less reliable and has not been tuned to perfection even though they are still very reliable.
3.Why do you think AMDs are less reliable?
I think they are reliable, but only...

The E6300 is the cheapest of Intel's Core 2 Duo's with an average price range of around £120 and runs at a steady 1.86Ghz with 2 physical cores and a FSB of 1,066MHZ.
Now before I loose you in techno jargon I will explain what the E6300 basically is. more
