Advantages: BETTER PERFORMANCE/ RELIABILITY
Disadvantages: A LITTLE LOUDER ON THE FAN/COOLING

...I HAVE BEEN USING PENTIUM PROCESSORS FOR MANY YEARS NOW AND HAVE FOUND THEM TO BE BOTH RELIABLE AND GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO. I HAVE RECENTLY UP-GRADED TO A NEW PENTIUM III 450 HTZ PROCESSOR AND I AM VERY IMPRESSED BY IT'S PERFORMANCE. I THOUGHT LONG AND HARD BEFORE BUYING MY NEW MACHINE AND LOOKED AT THE DIFFERENT PROCESSORS AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. I SOUGHT ADVICE FROM FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES WITH OTHER PROCESSORS AND DECIDED TO STICK WITH THE PENTIUM. I CAN HEARTILY RECCOMMEND IT FOR SPEED AND RELIABILITY. Advantages: Dual Core, Fast Clock Speed, Overclocking, 4mb cach
Disadvantages: slower than the newer core 2 duo range

...I have had this processor for almost a year now, the price i paid at purchase was around £99. I have had no problems with the processor and it has worked well for me. I have this processor installed in the following rig and it has worked great for both gaming and work based activity. Advantages: Fast, cheap, easy to install.
Disadvantages: Gets very hot.

...the temperature it seemed to be far too high (55 degrees C when not doing anything, and up to 75 degrees C when running the latest games). I decided to remove the official heatsink and buy a Zalman Flower Cooler, which has reduced the temperature by 20 degrees C! I am impressed by the amount of speed with which I am able to do things on the PC eg games and applications - a significant jump from my previous 1 Ghz AMDathlon processor. When you consider the performance you are getting for the price - I would have no hesitation in recommending this processor. In use with an Asus A7v333 board, 512 MB PC2700 memory and a GeForce 4 Ti4200 graphics card I can achieve scores of 9600-9900 on 3D Mark 2001 SE benchmarking software.... Read review
