This Getting Redicolous Now
Review of Intel Pentium 4 2 GHz processor by Hellzone

Advantages: Good for speed freaks
Disadvantages: Not needed for much

...Well These processors are just getting redicolous, Were onto Pentium 4 1.5ghz! not even the highest spec games need that. Why would anyone even want a processor this fast? what software these days could make a use for it unless being a virus. The highest processor ive seen needed for a Game, probaly the most demanding piece of software on pc is 650Mhz and the only program i know of that needs a recommended value of 1.3ghz is that of a cancer institue which uses the processor to calculate large formulas etc. Trust me people 1.5ghz really isn't needed and seeming as intel have a record for slow Bus speeds i really wouldn't bother. If you really think you need 1.5Ghz get a Athlon they usually have 2meg Caches and very high bus speeds... Read review

More bang for the buck than a 3 ghz p4
Review of Amd Athlon Xp 3000+ by viglaos

Advantages: Really good for multitasking. Great value
Disadvantages: Cant clock it to 3 ghz without getting it really hot.

...Well this processor is nothing new really. It is pretty much the same thing as the amd 2700 chip. However it has a 512 cache. It is double that of p4s and other amd chips. Although it runs at 2.167 ghz it is faster than a 2.5 ghz p4. How cool is that. It can run most games fairly well. The only game it cant run smoothly is halo, even when I used a radeon 9800xt. However you can overclock it a bit to 2.5 ghz and it will run great. Since it has the barton core like the amd 64 processor it will be able to run some 64 bit applications. I bought this processor because I was building a pc for myself. So far I have no problems. You can clock it to 3 ghz but you will need a better heatsink and a loud fan to keep it cool. I reccomend you only clock it 2.5 ghz max.... Read review
