Sun UltraSPARC II 466 MHz processor

...The Sun UltraSPARC 5 workstation was brought out in 1997, and was priced so you could have one on your desk for approx 1000 US Dollars. They stopped shipping to customers in May 2002. These days, it is not a fast machine, but still they are perfectly useable for many workstation and server tasks. Processor and Memory - This model has an UltraSPARC IIi processor which is, of course, 64 bit and is clocked at 360 MHz. You can have 1GB of memory in the workstation, installed as up to 4 DIMMS, which must be installed in pairs. "Normal" PC memory will not work in these workstations. The 260MHz model only has 256kB cache (same with the 270MHz processor) For better performance, you need the 2MB cache version on the 333 or 400MHz versions. It will take up to 768 MB of ram at speeds of 66/100/133MHz ram depending on the processors bus speed. ...I Book Special Edition The look of the Ibook is shiny smoother and smart. There are three colours in the range which are lime, indigo and graphite. The Ibook is available with two different processor speeds: you can choose between a 366Mhz Ibook or you can opt for the more powerfull 466Mhz which features a DVD rom. Also they both feature firewire ports and Imovie 2 software make editing home movies easy. The composite video-out port will allow you to output to home made creations to a TV or VCR. The rest of the line up isn’t as impressive. It 466Mhz G3 processor can’t compete with the latest mobile offering from Intel, and its 64mb of Ram isn’t the largest about available.
