Sun's UltraSPARC IV+ 64-bit processor is the fifth generation in the UltraSPARC processor family. It comes with significantly enhanced cores, 2 MB on-chip L2 cache, and an off-chip 32 MB L3 cache. The 1.5 GHz processor follows Sun's Throughput Computing vision while continuing the tradition of binary code compatibility - and uses the latest 90 nanometer process technology.

Advantages: Cheap entry level Sun SPARC from 1997 Disadvantages: Build quality is PC like, and low cache processors
...The SunUltraSPARC5 workstation was brought out in 1997, and was priced so you could have one on your desk for approx 1000 US Dollars. They stopped shipping to customers in May 2002. These days, it is not a fast machine, but still they are perfectly useable for many workstation and server tasks.
Processor and Memory -
This model has an UltraSPARC IIi processor which is, of course, 64 bit and is clocked at 360 MHz. You can have 1GB of memory in the workstation, installed as up to 4 DIMMS, which must be installed in pairs. "Normal" PC memory will not work in these workstations. The 260MHz model only has 256kB cache (same with the 270MHz processor) For better performance, you need the 2MB cache version on the 333 or 400MHz versions.
Storage -
There is one HDD bay in the machine, although if you remove the floppy drive, you...

Advantages: Dual Core, Low power usage* and Fast! Disadvantages: Motherboards can be costly for this!
...but pentiums can be twice the price for the same spec AMD!
In comparison to my old computer (old old p4 1.9Ghz with 1gb ram) this processor helps to wipe the floor with my old computer. The dual core feature means that in comparison i can listen to music, run an anti-virus scan, spyware and adware scan and play Hitman: Blood Money at the same time with very little noticeable shuddering or lag! Excellent. If my old computer attempted this bouts of freezing and poor gameplay would occur!
The startup speeds of the computer are very noticeable as it takes around 40secs to boot in total (after everything has loaded up) whereas my old computer would literally take atleast 4 minutes to boot everything up - no joke!
In comparison it is not the best for Gaming as some single core pentiums are but this is still damn good. Coupling this board with 1...

Advantages: Heavy duty usage, graphics Disadvantages: Bulky
...4200 just about does the trick... just about. A desktop is still more powerful so if you have the space and don't need the portability of the laptop, get a desktop.
The keyboard has a nice touch and the processor is very quiet, unlike some laptops which just makes loads of noise.
I leave my laptop on almost 24/7 and it's fine, so from this point I think it's a heavy duty laptop and suitable for heavy use.
The setback of this laptop could be that it's heavy, about 3.5kgs, and it's big and bulky, a price to pay for a high graphics compatible laptop. The quality and standard is good, the service dell gives is exceptional, that I can't deny. I'm very satisfied with this laptop, however more RAM would be needed in my opinion if you were to do some serious graphics rendering. 512MB at the moment is still not enough.
The disk space...
