Sun UltraSPARC T1 1.2 GHz processor board

Advantages: Cheap entry level Sun SPARC from 1997

...The Sun UltraSPARC 5 workstation was brought out in 1997, and was priced so you could have one on your desk for approx 1000 US Dollars. They stopped shipping to customers in May 2002. These days, it is not a fast machine, but still they are perfectly useable for many workstation and server tasks. Processor and Memory - This model has an UltraSPARC IIi processor which is, of course, 64 bit and is clocked at 360 MHz. You can have 1GB of memory in the workstation, installed as up to 4 DIMMS, which must be installed in pairs. "Normal" PC memory will not work in these workstations. The 260MHz model only has 256kB cache (same with the 270MHz processor) For better performance, you need the 2MB cache version on the 333 or 400MHz versions. ...I have had this processor for almost a year now, the price i paid at purchase was around £99. I have had no problems with the processor and it has worked well for me. I have this processor installed in the following rig and it has worked great for both gaming and work based activity. ...My Celeron D processor runs very well . yhou it was lsloe games like nfs undergrd 1,2 ,mostwanted ,age of empires 3 ,fifa 2007 ,gta san andreas , total overdose , warhammer 40000 dawn of war drak crusade & halo combat evolved worked smoothly without getting hanged ---------XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXx XXXXXXXXXXXXX I had even overclocked it fro 2.53 to 3.01 ghz and worked very well i had nce overclocked it to 3.48 ghz it worked good but after some time of game play it would suddenly get turned off , later i came to know that the reason of going off is that it was overheated . so from the i am usin it at 3.01 ghz and it wrks very well . its not bad to have a processor like this at a cheap price ....
