The Sunderland Echo is produced daily in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear and costs 45p. It includes local news, sport, national news, weather as well as comments, letters, classified and family announcements. Whilst sometimes the headline indicates there has been a slow news day so it not that inspiring, the paper does a good job of reporting local news and events. The letters page is often dominated by local politics with councellors and others writing in and usually proves an interesting read and a picture of what the local and national issues are. The sports pages comments on local teams but understandably focuses on the larger teams and sometimes the smaller ones (e.g. basketball or ice hockey) are ignored by and large. The classified and family announcements are daily and up to date. Jobs, houses and cars for sale are also included on certain days of the week. The paper is a useful source of local information
