Sunderland University. A disabled student's view

AdvantagesThe city itself boasts a large comprehensive new shopping

Disadvantages Too numerous to mention - in some departments it's

"I graduated from Sunderland University just over 2 years back with a 2:1 in Media Studies - in spite of the university rather than because of it! Student Support were incredibly helpful, but the School of Arts, Design and (lack of) Communications and the Estates Department (who run the car parks) weren't - albeit in some cases unintentionally. Being a disabled student, access was a priority and after completing the first year of a Business Studies ..." Read review

Find another university

AdvantagesNone

DisadvantagesLack of support, False information, Substandard teaching

"My decision to come to Sunderland University is one I very much regret. The information I was given regarding my course was untrue and was used at the time of my application to make the university seem more appealing. Sunderland - Good facilities

AdvantagesGood Facilities, Good Services (free bus!!) and great people

DisadvantagesDiabolical Administrative Staff

"...went to the University of Sunderland because of the excellent IT facilities in the computing school. I graduated with a HND in computing after initially joining to read BSc Economics and Computing. I feel I must point out that each school is different and that my review only reflects the Combined programs (poor) & Computing Schools (good). I will start with the positive points: 1: The facilities provided for the students are comprehensive (free ..." Read review

A poor university in a poor place

AdvantagesNot much

DisadvantagesEverything

"...horrible and not very modern. Sunderland itself leaves alot to be desired. if you're into anything thats more than a cheesy night out dont come here. It has 3 or 4 nightclubs all equally as bad as each other, that belt out cheesy pop. To be fair the student nights have cheap drinks but thats it and you can egt that anywhere. Newcastle is just a bit too far away for you to enjoy it to the max. The shopping centre in sunderland is terrible and its really ..." Read review
