. Both compartments of the hutch should have hinged or lift off doors, to enable you easy access to handle your pet, change their food and water and for cleaning purposes. Hutches can be very expensive. My Dad built out rabbit hutch so we were every lucky in that respect. Second hand cages are always advertised in my local paper and I would advise anyone to consider buying a second hand run, as they are nearly always in good condition and more than half the price of a shop bought one. Bedding The floor of the hutch should be covered with an absorbent material. Clean newspaper laid flat could be used and covered with a layer of wood shavings or sawdust (not too fine as it can irritate your rabbit's eyes) Straw or hay can also be used as bedding, especially in the sleeping compartment, providing comfort and warmth for your pet. RABBITS HAVE NEEDS.

Advantages: EXQUISITE CREATURES.
Disadvantages: TAKE A LOT OF LOOKING AFTER.

Review of Rabbit

Rabbits

Advantages: Very friendly, each one is very individual
Disadvantages: Involves a lot of time and money

I had Rabbits as pets for most of my childhood. I remember getting our first one when I was only four years old. She was black and white and I remember the first thing I noticed about her was her very long eyelashes ... so I called her eyelash! Rabbits, despite the common "cute and cuddly" perception of them may not necessarily make the best pets for children. Eyelash was great with me as I was never left alone with her and I soon learnt (through being bitten!) that when she wanted to be alone she wanted to be alone! As rabbits are individuals you may find that some will really enjoy being handled, but I found with most of mine that they will enjoy running around and playing (and chewing!) with everything in sight!
